A/N: The newest chapters of the bsd manga just stuck in my mind and won't leave me alone, also I've always wanted to try writing a Fyozai fanfic, so that is how I came to writing this (also, I wrote it in sleep delirium affair).
Okay VERY LAST CHANCE TO AVOID SPOILERS!

Now to the actual plot. What if Dazai lost the prison break duel, Fyodor got the only cure for the poison and now Dazai is about to die?
And, make it a little more Fyozai. Then it could be like that:

Dazai laid himself down on the ground, too weakened by the poison pouring through his veins to hold his own weight against gravity any longer.
"Seems like I'm losing, huh. Yes, that's how it'll end now. I lost and you've won, Fyodor. Congratulations", he said, a bitter-sweet smile on his lips.
Now Fyodor kneeled down next to his opponent, again wearing that for him typical unreadable expression on his face.
"Yes, you're right. That is how it ends with the two of us", he then replied. "It's a pity that our game is already coming to an end now, though. An end that does not allow a revenge nor a continuation in the future."
It was then that their eyes met.
Eventually Dazai spoke again. "Yes, but everything must come to an end at some point. Even though I have to say I also wouldn't have mind it at all if our game was lasting a while longer."
"But here you are now. Laying on the ground and slowly dying", retorted Fyodor.
Dazai's glance went away at those words, seemingly lost in thoughts.
"Right, that is how things are now", he replied, still smiling.
"You seem to have regrets about it. Are those about your loss? Or about the fact that your life will end in the next minutes?", Fyodor asked.
Dazai laughed weakly and then cried,
"If only I knew it myself!", his body shivering.
For a part of a second surprise reflected in the eyes of Fyodor, then he seemed to understand. So, wishing to die and actually laying in death's hands are two different things one mustn't treat as equivalent, he thought.
Even though he was having those thoughts, he asked: "But ain't death the one thing you always wished for, more than for anything else?"
Then he surprised himself with the next thing he did: He gently took Dazai's hand into his own.
This caused Dazai to slowly look to his opponent again, and he only nodded in silence.
"Let go of all your regrets then, free yourself from their burdens! Close your eyes and enjoy your salvation, Dazai. You'll soon be eased, and what you so long wished for will finally come true. Don't be afraid; welcome it!", encouraged Fyodor him.
And Dazai closed his eyes, took a deep breath and his body relaxed.
"You're... right... Fyodor", he whispered. "Thank... you... for the... game... I... really... enjoyed it... And... I... don't mind... that... you... won..."
"I also have to thank you. You were the only person whom it was interesting for me to attend against. I really enjoyed it, too. Thank you for the game, Dazai", Fyodor replied with a true but sad smile on his face.
But Dazai didn't answer anymore.
"May his soul be free from all his burdens, and from all his suffering. May all the sins he committed be forgiven and may death treat him better than life did treat him", he set up a prayer with his eyes closed, finding himself moved by such a deep grief he had never felt before.
