"If there exists someone who has absolute power and knows everything about the past, the present, and the future, it is HIM and ONLY HIM. People consider him the perfect being, an immortal, and the word 'perfect' is defined by him. He has existed since before the very concept of time was known, a presence older than the oldest stars, stronger than the fiercest storm. His power is beyond measure, shaping worlds and destinies. To humans, his presence is like the sky—something that exists but we do not know where it starts or where it ends. We cannot touch it, but he still exists. Sometimes he takes the form of living beings, appears in existence, and then disappears again. When he appears, only a few living beings and humans come to know of it. They are his followers. He is the finest being that has ever existed and will always be the finest."
"Then, Naani, is he not alone since only he exists and only he is the perfect being?" asked Astra, a young girl who did not yet know the meaning of death. Her grandmother lay on her deathbed in a small, dimly lit room filled with the faint scent of incense. The room was crowded with family members, each holding their breath as they listened to the final moments of the matriarch. The walls were adorned with family photographs, and a single, flickering candle cast dancing shadows across the faces of the gathered relatives.
Her grandmother, struggling for each breath, replied, "My dear girl, yes, he is lonely and waiting... kha... khaa..."
Astra, with wide, innocent eyes, asked, "Waiting for whom, Naani?" But no reply came back. Her mother, kneeling beside the bed and gently holding her mother's hand, said to Astra while trying to hide her tears, "Astra, your grandmother has gone into a deep sleep. Let her sleep peacefully... don't disturb her."
Astra, her voice filled with concern and curiosity, asked, "Mama, when will she wake up?" Her mother replied, "Baby, she will now open her eyes in front of the perfect being." The child, sensing the gravity of the moment but not fully understanding it, replied, "Okay, then let me whisper a secret to her, Mama."
The room fell silent as Astra leaned close to her grandmother's ear, her voice a soft whisper, "Naani, make friends with the perfect being when you go to him. Tell him that being alone is not good, and maybe you both won't be lonely anymore. Good night, sweet dreams." She kissed her grandmother on the forehead and went back to her room, holding hands with her mother, who was trying to hide her tears over the loss of her mother-in-law in front of her innocent daughter. The family members, though grieving, found a small comfort in Astra's words, hoping that perhaps the perfect being would find solace in the company of a beloved grandmother.
