[DeepL Translator Only] It was three days to Christmas. Sylvie was on a break from work when she glanced at her phone, where a text from Loki was waiting: Would you like to go ice skating tonight? Sylvie smiled contentedly as she read the message. They'd been seeing each other quite a bit over the last two weeks, and even if it was only on a friendly level, she was more than comfortable with his company. They always had so much to say to each other...
She smiled and wrote back, Great idea!
The answer came to her almost immediately: Great, I'll look forward to it! He immediately suggested a place for them to meet.
Me too! She wrote back to him and went back to work, completely hypnotizing the time so she could already go ice skating with Loki.
She hadn't even realized it, but he was the only thing on her mind for the last few days. Loki was the same way. He was as comfortable with her as he had been with anyone in a long time. And as much as he enjoyed his work, it was an endless shift at work today. And even his colleagues could tell something was wrong with him. That he was different. They both went home as quickly as they could after work, changed their clothes, got their skates and headed to the place even earlier than they had to. They couldn't wait. They both got there half an hour early and ran into each other after a while.
"Gee, you're here already too?" It came out of both of them at the same time. They both had to laugh at that.
"I was really looking forward to it. I don't even know the last time I skated." Sylvie added with a smile.
"Me neither, I hope I can still do it and not embarrass myself."
"I think we'll do the embarrassment together, though."
"Let's go!" Loki was very happy to see her, so he grabbed her hand without thinking, and it dawned on him right then. He looked at her to see if she was okay with it. Such a pleasant shiver ran through Sylvie's body. She just smiled and squeezed his hand to let him know it was okay.
Loki was pleased and together they walked hand in hand in the ticket booth, they would get to the rink. Loki paid for both of them and was almost sorry that he had to let go of Sylvie to get his wallet while he did so. Sylvie stared at him as he did so. She didn't even realize that she was smiling as she looked at him. It wasn't until he looked at her and smiled too that he reached out to her again. Sylvie immediately grabbed onto him and they went to sit down to put on their skates. In doing so, they had to let go again and suddenly they were both so nervous they couldn't hold on. Though they didn't want to show it in front of the other. They were a little confused by the feeling.
Eventually Sylvie was quicker in putting on her skates and stood up, immediately stammering slightly, "Wow, I really haven't been on skates in ages."
Loki stood up and immediately grabbed both of her hands. "We better hold on. It'll be safer." He winked at her.
"And you're not worried that if one of us falls, we'll both fall?"
"I think I'll take my chances! I wouldn't leave you in the lurch," he laughed.
"You're somehow too sure that I'll be the one to fall!" She laughed too. Finally, they walked slowly out onto the ice together. Sylvie held on to the handrail for safety at first, in addition to Loki. She really thought she'd be better and that she'd be fine right from the start. But Loki did a good job of supporting her and steadying her. He kept grinning as he did so.
Sylvie wanted to show off a little too, so she wouldn't be a pushover, and after a while she let go of the mantle. She was really good at it at first, until a group of teenagers came rushing by and quickly passed them, so Sylvie ended up in Loki's arms again after staggering on the ice. Luckily Loki kept them both on their feet and they didn't end up splattered on the ice. Their gazes met and they both became nervous again. Sylvie immediately thought how comfortable she was with his proximity.
