*Bucky's POV*
The gym in the tower is something I will never be able to get used to, how can one space be open to so many different activities.
The room isn't by any means small but it is filled to the brim with anything and everything any of us would ever need to train in anything from target practice, hand to hand combat, basic fitness to weird witchy powers that some younger avengers have.
Steve is always down here that's why it's the first place I came when Tyla left with Peter, so when I walked through the doors of the gym to see Steve beating the shit out of a new punching bag I wasn't in the slightest surprised.
"Hey Steve," I said making my way over to the bench next to where he was working out,
"Hey Buck" Steve replied, continuing to show the punching bag no mercy, "Where's Ty?" Steve asked, grabbing the punching bag with one hand to stop it swinging.
"What? Can't I have some alone time?" I sassed sitting down on the bench and crossing my arms over my chest.
Steve chuckled at my response and made his way over to the bench, finishing off his bottle of water and wiping the sweat from his brow.
"It's not that you can't it's that you haven't" Steve retorted pointing his now empty water bottle at me,
"What is that supposed to mean?" I asked generally curious about what he was thinking,
"The last two days whenever you two aren't hidden away in your room if I happen to see one of you the other is never far away" Steve answered with a wide grin on his face as he sat next to me,
"Is it weird?" I asked changing the mood completely
Steve's face fell at my tone "Is what weird Buck?"
"Is it weird that it's been two days and I'm that attached?" I elaborated looking down at my hands that have become clenched together in my lap,
"What? No. Ty has shown a side of herself to us in the last two days that takes others years to. We were there when she needed it and now she's let us in if anything we are both lucky especially you Buck" Steve replied placing a hand on my shoulder,
"I guess you've got a point there Steve" I finally gave in
"Damn right I do" He replied. The two of us continued to talk about anything and everything we could think of sitting on the bench together. It's always been like that with Steve and me. Just natural. I mean we are practically related.
"Sergeant Barnes, Miss Parker has requested your presence in...well in your room" JARVIS drew both of our attention to him, the smile that overtook my face couldn't have been missed by anyone and I wasn't mad about it.
"I guess you better get going Buck" Steve pointed out with a matching smile, standing up and re-wrapping his hands ready for round two on the punching bag,
"I guess so. See you later Steve" I waved to my best friend as I made my way out of the gym when JARVIS's voice filled the room again, "Sergeant Barnes it has been requested that you bring Captain Rogers with you"
The two of us froze, sharing an almost telepathic question.
What's wrong?
Without a single word, I broke into a run towards the nearest elevator, with Steve close behind I started ramming the call button cursing the fact that Tony could probably make quicker ones but chooses not to.
Finally, the doors opened and Steve and I piled into the small metal box and punched the button for two floors up.
The tower is massive and each floor has four bedrooms with a connected bathroom, a living space and kitchen. My room is on the 62nd floor so getting there quickly from the ground floor was never really an option, with that being said every floor we passed the tension within the room rose.
Tyla really has managed to get us both panicked.
"JARVIS please let Tyla know we are on our way" Steve called out
"And ask if everything is okay" I added on the end right as the elevator made a ding to let us know we are here.
The second I could, I stepped out with Steve on my left and made a beeline straight for my door ready to protect our Ty from whatever was happening.
We reached my door quicker than I thought we would and with nothing more than a nod we both braced ourselves ready to breakthrough.
We both backed away from the door into the hallway, Steve still on my left held up three fingers and I watched ready to go as he mouthed a countdown.
On one we both jumped into action running at my door without any intention of stopping.
After a loud crash and a grunt from the both of us when we hit the floor with the door we both jumped up into a fighting stance in record time ready to take on anything.
But nothing was there. All I could see was the close to bare walls, the TV, couch, bedside tables and bed with a weird shaped lump on it.
Looking around the room again Steve and I let ourselves relax as confusion settled in.
Where the hell is she?
"I surround myself with idiots" A voice drew my attention back to the bed, I could pick out that voice anywhere.
Tyla was lying on my bed with the covers pulled up and over her head.
I stand next to my best friend of 100 and something years completely dumbfounded by the small girl underneath the covers of my bed that has let us into her heart.
Knowing full well she couldn't see either of I wave a hand out to Steve trying to grab his attention which took a little more effort than I thought it would.
With a single nod, we know the plan. I make my way silently to the other side of the bed crouching down low ready to pounce, while Steve does the same on the opposite side of the bed.
This will be good.
I motion to Steve to wait for my signal and once again he nods in confirmation.
"I think this is the quietest you to have ever been, where are the two old men?" Tyla asks not even bothering to move out from under the covers and look.
That was enough to send me jumping onto my bed further alerting Steve to do the same.
"Ahhhhh" Tyla squealed as she was trapped under both me and Steve while we rested on our elbows, because she is so small she really was trapped with me covering the right side of her body and Steve covering the left.
Reaching towards her head, I grab at the top of the covers and reef them down to reveal a very amused looking Tyla.
Her hair was messy and full of static electricity which made it almost look like a little lions mane and her giggle was contagious, but the smile that was on her face couldn't be matched by anyone other than those on mine and Steve's face.
Looking down at the girl beneath me I couldn't believe what I possibly could have done to deserve her or understand what she had done to me to have completely head over heels for that beautiful rosy-cheeked smile.
In a moment of pure happiness while Tyla brought her arms out from under the covers and held them together under her chin giggling I looked to Steve right as he looked at me with the largest smile we laughed together.
"What are you losers laughing at?" Tyla sassed pretending to look angry causing me and Steve to lose it for real as I flopped down to be completely laying on Tyla,
"Life doll, just life"
