It was just like every normal day. Wake up, brush my teeth, get dressed and eat and go about my day. But today was a little different. I was heading off to college, my parents were excited for me to explore the new world. I knew I wouldn't like it much so I put a face and acted like I was excited too. I just didn't want to leave my friends and family behind but I got my dream college Harvard. What I'm going for, well in all honesty I still have no idea. My friends and I got into different colleges. Mary, who is my best friend is being forced to stay home because her mom got sick. Her dad left her when she young so she forced to stay and help her.
"Elisabeth." Mom yelled
I finally got out of bed, changed and walked down stairs. "Yes mom." I said as I was walking into the kitchen. "Today is your big day, how excited are you." She questioned me "I'm pretty excited." She went on and on how seeing the world would be so much fun and I get to make new friends, I completely zoned out thinking how much I'm going to miss everyone. "Hello, earth to Elizabeth." She said waving her hand in front of my face. "Huh?" She just laughed. My brother David ran downstairs and grabbed my arm and brought me to the living room, "You have to see this." He flipped the channels and there was a cute pandas on tv. "This is why you ran down the stairs." He just nodded, he knew I loved Panadas so I didn't mind watching it with him. He is such a good little brother, I'm going to miss him the most out of everyone. He pulled me in for a hug, hugged me tight. I just smiled and kissed his head "I love you." He looked up "I love you too sissy." We both just smiled and walked into the kitchen "Oh perfect timing breakfast is done." All three of us sat down at the table. My dad wasn't around much, he stopped working after I graduated. We know all he is at some bar and will come home tonight. We finished up eating breakfast when we heard a knock on the door. "Hey you." Mary said as she walked in "Hello" all of us said back. "What do you girls have plan today before you guys leave. We just looked at each other " I have no idea" we said at the same time. All of laughed, I helped mom put the plates away, me and Mary left the house. We got in the car and drove off. "What's going on Liz" I just looked out the window and "I can't leave, M" She slammed on the breaks "Look at me" I refused so she grabbed my chin and made me look at her "Liz you deserve this more than anyone, they will be fine" I just stared at her "That's just not the reason why, M" She looked puzzled like she trying to figure out what was another reason to stay  "No, you can't" I just looked at her "I can't leave you here alone, M I don't want you doing this alone" "Liz you gotta go, if you don't you're gonna get stuck here too"
I don't see why that would be so bad because I wanna stay with her. I wanna be there for my best friend. I just can't up and go
"Liz, you have to promise me you'll go" She started driving again "I can't promise that." She just growled at me as she was speeding through stops. "M stop" she kept going and going "M stop the car" my heart was racing and my mind was bouncing off the walls. "M" I yelled as I seen another car
