Kitty Dunn felt pretty fucking useless right now; here she was with her best fucking friend, who was a sobbing wreck in the corner of her room, and she couldn't even master the courage to say something - anything. Even a small 'hey, are you okay?' would have been better than this almost awkward (for Kitty anyway) silence that was eating her apart with each passing second, almost as if it was screaming at her stupidity as she hopelessly watched Lindsey Ballato bury her stained face only deeper into her tattooed arms.

Of course, it wasn't totally silent - Lindsey's sobs were loud, excruciatingly loud, and it would be painful to watch such a strong being fall apart in such a dreadful manner like this, over something as horrific as the events of yesterday. However, neither party acknowledged the choked sobs because their minds were simply elsewhere, not like they were aware of exactly where their minds were, but elsewhere was a good enough explanation of their mental state towards the situation. The whole night had just been some awful nightmarish blur of pain, sobbing and futile comforting, ending in this empty silence.

Lindsey Ballato was going through a whole series of notions but she still felt numb, numb enough for her senses to be completely and utterly shutdown. Kitty's pointless little words of kindness and hope went unheard by the twenty-year old girl in the pigtails, because nothing was right and everything was ridiculously wrong. What else could anyone expect?

"Lindsey, honey, are you sure you don't want to-?" Kitty started, the first words spoken in over three hours now. Three hours of watching, observing and feeling absolutely nothing.

Three whole fucking hours of this endless torture.

"No, I don't want to call the police, Kit!"

Lindsey's small but almost bitter voice shocked them both for no reason other than they were the first words she had spoken since the 'accident'. The bitter tone behind the voice, of course, was still strange for Lindsey to use, though.

Kitty didn't know much about what happened regarding last night. She had unbeknownst walked in on the most scarring moment of Lindsey's, and possibly Dr Iero's, life far too easily for anyone's liking, but all she had seen was Lindsey crying in the corner and Dr Iero passed out on the floor. There was a little bit of mysterious sulphur but, apart from that, nothing was out of place in the hospital...or so it had seemed at the time.

"The police?" Kitty struggled out her words, but she was determined to discover the source of her best friend's anxiety. "Lindsey, I was gonna say talk about it. Why would the police get involved?"

Like anyone found in Kitty's situation (although there will most certainly not be many), she was totally perplexed by practically everything Lindsey was saying or even showing, since the speaking side was rather low on action.

"He tried to kill me!" Lindsey spat, she actually spat the words at Kitty and Kitty felt extremely taken back. Nobody, not even Brad whom knew Lindsey best, had ever seen her in such a state to act so bitter, so annoyed by small actions that were only made in her benefit.

"Dr Iero?" Kitty gasped a little bit, knowing for sure that there was no way that Dr Iero was capable of trying to murder someone, especially not Lindsey.

Everyone adored Lindsey.

"No," Lindsey rolled her eyes at her friend's pathetic attempt to understand what was happening. Nobody could understand. Not even Lindsey herself fully understood what was happening. Sure, she had her ideas but they were too far-fetched for her to officially contemplate the existence of. "You know what, Kit? You're never going to understand. Nobody is ever going to understand. I don't even fucking understand."
