Natasha opened her eyes, trying to get a bearing on her surroundings. She blinked to help her vision come into focus.

"Natalia Alianovna Romanova," came the voice of the only other living- well, almost living- being with her on the desolate planet of Vormir. "Welcome back to the world of the living." She looked at the cloaked Red Skull in confusion.

"Why?" She asked. "A soul for a soul, that's the bargain right? I gave my soul for the stone, so why am I here again?" The words came from her mouth at a tone that was almost a demand. "Someone swapped their soul with yours." The figure said. "Who?" Natasha asked. "Anthony Edward Stark." Red Skull replied. Her eyes widened. "Tony?! Why?!" She exclaimed. "He used the stones to defeat Thanos and his army. As he did he swapped his soul for yours." He explained.

Natasha paused. Why her? Tony had Pepper and Morgan. A family. It was supposed to be her. If she went, she didn't have anything to lose. She didn't have stakes in the fight against Thanos. No one had gotten snapped away from her family, at least that's what she thought. She hadn't spoken to Yelena, Melina, or Alexi in awhile. There had been no time. She just hoped none of them were taken in the first snap.

"Well, I guess I should find a way out of here." She said. She lifted her wrist and typed a message out to the rest of the Avengers, except for Tony. 'Still here. :)' it read. Now, she just had to wait. Surely someone would get it, and find her. She hoped they would before starvation or dehydration set in. "If there's no food or water here, how will I survive?" Natasha asked. "You do not have to worry about earthly nourishment here." Red Skull said. She nodded and found a shard of rock and put a line on a bigger one. She needed some way of tracking how many days went by.

A long time later, enough for Natasha to have half the stone covered in lines, she heard a sound and turned around as she was putting that day's line on the rock. A portal had opened in front of her, and none other than her best friend, Clint Barton stepped through. "Nat?" He asked seeing her in such a disheveled state. "Clint." She said with a sigh of relief. The two then hugged one another tightly. "What took you so long?" Natasha asked. "Lots of things. Look, I need your help. Remember Ronin?" He asked. "Yeah. Please tell me he's not back." She said. "No, no. But the things he did have come back to bite me in the ass." Clint said. "Alright, let's go fix this." Natasha said with a smile. Then, the two stepped back through the portal.
