In the Rain

When they finally got back together after three long years, Dick wanted to make his and Zatanna's date perfect. So he arranged a 'perfect night out' where they would get dinner at a nice fancy restaurant, go watch a movie, and get a dessert to top the night off. And that's how the night started off, after he picked up a gorgeous looking Zatanna they heard off to dinner, laughing and talking the whole time, it was going as planned.

Though what he didn't account for was the rain after dinner. They stood outside, under the pavilion of the restaurant, hoping it would stop, though those hopes soon diminished when it rained even harder.

Dick cursed under his breath. "I'm sorry Zee. I should have checked the weather for tonight. This is not how I wanted our first date back together to go."

Zatanna smiled at him. "Dick it's okay, when has anything gone as expected for us."

Zatanna slipped off her heels and stepped into the rain, splashing in the puddles and letting the drops soak her to the bones.

Dick feels a smile settle upon his lips as he watches her splash in the puddles and laugh. He never realized how much he missed her laugh, her smile, or her in general, and now with them getting back together, he was determined to make sure they stayed together.

Zatanna turned towards him, smiling and held her hand out to him. Butterflies sliced through his stomach as he grasped her hand and they began dancing in the rain, with a lovestruck look in their eyes, humming a melody together. Both too absorbed in their world to care about the strange looks they got from strangers, running for cover.

Dick pulled Zatanna to his chest, bright baby blue eyes staring into midnight blue eyes. Dick leaned in, pressing a passionate kiss onto her lips, Zatanna immediately responded with the same favor. Warmth and butterflies filling them both. Zatanna played with his hair, pulling him closer .

They pulled away to breathe, smiling at each other. Neither cared that they were soaked now, just enjoying being in each other's embrace.

"I missed you." both said simultaneously. They let out a laugh. They pulled away completely and held each other's hand.

"Come on, we can go to my apartment and finish our date there." Zatanna stated, pulling Dick towards her as they began to run in the rain with smiles plastered on their faces.
