"10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1...Lift off!"

I held onto my seat as tight as I could, It was my first mission. I have never been so excited, and scared s**** less at the same time before. I felt like a small doll sitting in a large massage chair. My ears crumbled due to the eardrum piercing engines. I felt myself being pushed up faster than I could go. Let me off! Let me off! Let me off! Was all I could think of.

"Almost there! Having fun yet Mellon?" yells my co-pilot, James.

Right then and there I wanted to slap him. If only I could move my arms. I wasn't having fun, I felt like I left my body four miles back. He Calls me "Mellon" because I always eat watermelon for lunch, and it sounds like my actual name. Now Every one calls me Mellon. I guess it stuck. If someone calls you a nick name and you answer to it, it will stick forever (FYI).

"Stop teasen' James, you know she aint' done this before." Snapped Joe. I felt a slight tug on my sleeve. "Come on gal' everythins' cool, open them eyes."

I peaked one eye open, then I took a quick scan then opened my other eye. The first thing I saw was bright and glittering stars stretch across the windshield, and the moon waiting for us in the distance. It was so big and bright yet so far away. I just wanted to reach my hand out and grab it. The only worry I had was being in the same shuttle as Joe and James for three days. I was trained to cooperate with two astronauts in a small space for a long time, not two morons.

"Beautiful, huh Mell?" Said Joe, but he wasn't looking at the endless abyss of space, he was looking right at me. I sighed and playfully pushed his face away. I unbuckled myself and floated to the ceiling unexpectedly and I let out a short scream . James laughed at me. Joe unbuckled himself and floated around the cockpit too.

"Feels great to weigh nothing. Up here I can be over weight and healthy as an ox at the same time." James joked. Which was the worst joke I have ever heard. It didn't even make sense. I just rolled my eyes. "What now?" I asked. "Now we wait for orders from command." answered Joe. He had squeezed some water out of his water bottle and tried to catch the drops floating around."I'm too tired to wait to know what to do, I just wanna sleep right here right now." I said. "Head over to the bunks then Mell," Joe offered "I'll wake ya when we get a message. You've had a long day." I shrugged and went on my way.

Joe is the commander, he's the one we turn to when there is trouble. He is also our medic, another reason to turn to him for trouble. Him and James have been on six missions to the moon, and this was my first time. Joe liked me ever since I was hired for this job. Though I never let him get to me. He's very nice. I'll take anything he gives me, except alcohol. I wouldn't wan't him getting me drunk and end up waking up in his bed the next morning.

"Never date your co-workers" said my brother when I got my First job.

He warned me about things getting awkward working in the same place as your X. He should know. He's been with more women then Charley Shean. I remember him saying "I'm gonna marry that girl one day" for every girl he's been with. He was always loyal to his spouses. It's just that they weren't loyal to him. They always cheat on him and he will come home crying his heart out. He's married now thou. He has a beautiful wife, Alli, and three kids Alba, Fidencio, and Mia.

I glide towards the bunks and strap myself in. Half asleep and very comfortable I notice that I forgot to change out of my suit. I curse under my breath then unstrap myself and float over the the closet. I slip on my casual outfit and went back to sleep.

I had a dream... I was flying in the air, but I was all curled up. my head was buried in my arms and my knees were tucked in. I felt like I was wrapped in two thick blankets. Suddenly I began to move up and down rapidly, like I was running, but I was still curled up. "Hurry Mell!" was all I could hear. I tried to lift my head to see who it was but I couldn't, I was stiff. Then I flew faster and higher, my arms and legs spread out lazily, like I was thrown like a rag doll. "Thank you!" said a familiar voice, then I was being shaken by the shoulders.
