The year was 1997. The summer sky was tauntingly bright for the events that would be taking place within the next 24 hours.

A bride stood in the entrance hall of the church, nervously awaiting her cue to enter.  All of her bridesmaids had gone down the aisle, and she was left wringing her hands hoping that maybe, just maybe everything wouldn't go completely wrong. If there were pre-wedding jitters, then these were pre-wedding tremours, earthquakes even.

These feelings described shouldn't be confused with pre-wedding cold feet, because the problem wasn't her husband to be. It was her family.

Kellandria was from a long line of Aphelions, unlike her fiance Bradley. He was a Moore, and unlike Kellandria he was a normal and mortal man. Yes, indeed. The issue was that her side of the church was filled with magical beings. Her sister Penumbra could wield light and fire out of her fingertips, her aunt Melody was half-giant and barely fit into the church pew. Her uncle Thomison (a full-fledged giant) watched from outside, peering down from the skylight above.

The first notes of the wedding march rang out, reaching the nervous bride-to-be ears in a muted mumble. She was pure anxiety. What if Uncle Wattson started leaking water out of his ear out of excitement, or if her great Aunt Anita starts a natural disaster she will inevitably burst out sobbing?

Her inlaws would be horrified.

The big doors swung open. The wedding march played, and the audience waited in suspense.

Kellandria was nowhere to be found.
