Happy New Year 2022. Also, don't tell S I updated! lol kidding. but I really snuck this Unedited/unproofread/unapproved by S update because I want to give you guys a New Year present. There is a high chance S will take this down to edit and repost lol so read it quick. And take it as an unofficial version lol (but normally S really seldom make me rewrite chapters, it is normally I who is hard on myself rewriting chapters lol).

Also, updated it in the New Year because it is also our dearest S birthday. So, please enjoy the chapter and leave a wonderful message/greeting to S. She is still on duty so it is hard for her to find time to edit but when she can, she will definitely post more chapters for this and also this fic's prequel Unrestrained.

all the best this year. Dee.

Jin Ling didn't know how he got into a situation wherein he found himself driving to the airport early in the morning before the dawn breaks to do this errand.

He yawns as he waited for Lan Sizhui to come back to the car. Lan Sizhui was helping their senior Lan Wangji and their Professor Wei with their luggage. Jin Ling was not paying much attention to why the two had to leave in the middle of the sports day but despite that, he still found this rather strange. It was as if Lan Wangji was asked to take the Professor away for the meantime.

And where are they going again? Towards the North, right? Could it be to the Old Cloud Recesses? Out of all the Lan properties, Old Cloud Recesses is their most cherished, preserved and safeguarded. To bring someone outside of the clan in that place is so unlike the Lans.

Jin Ling sighs. Thing is, this is really nothing surprising anymore. It seemed like towards the new Literature teacher, the Lans became extremely pampering, nothing like their infamous rigid attitude. And now bringing him in their most revered place only testifies to that.

"Sorry for the wait," Lan Sizhui returned and quickly buckled his seatbelt as he sighed to himself, a smile broke on his lips, almost humming.

Jin Ling peeked on his classmate, his curiosity heightened even more. So, the moment that he safely drove away from the busier road of the airport and now out on the freeway, he asked, "Tell me, is Professor Wei some kind of a hidden heir of the Lan Clan or what?"

Lan Sizhui chuckled at this comment. He eyed Jin Ling back with a controlled smile on his lips, "Why would you think that?"

Jin Ling found this reply even more absurd, if not suspicious, "Around Professor Wei, all Lans seemed to lose their bearing. Don't even get me started with Senior Hanguang-Jun."

Lan Sizhui chuckled again, "What's wrong with Senior Hanguang-Jun?"

Jin Ling sighs, slightly annoyed that Lan Sizhui is making it sound like Jin Ling is making a fuss out of nothing, "Ugh, forget it."
