"Welcome aboard." I hear a kind voice greet me. I look up and smile. "Thank you. You ready to find our purpose?" I say kindly to the fellow stranger. "Of course. I'm so glad you're so enthusiastic about this trip!" I think to myself that we're gonna be great friends one day and I smile at the thought. "Well. I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Oliver. You can call me captain though." My hand clasps my mouth. "I've been talking to the captain?" I think to myself. "Oh! I'm so sorry captain." He chuckles a little bit and looks at me. "It's alright. I never got your name though." I start coming back to my senses and stop freaking out. "Apologies. My name is Andrew." I smile at him. "So you're the captain?" I question. He simply nods and doesn't do much else. "What inspired you to take these people on a trip like this?" I see his smile fade a little. His sad smile makes me a little sad. "Did I say something wrong? Apologies. I can be no-" he cuts me off with a small "shh" I stop talking for a bit and then he starts, "It's alright. I was inspired because my mother always wanted to help people and I wanted to be just like her and I found what troubled people a lot and brought them together." I do the same thing he did. I put on a sad smile. "You seem kind. So does your mother. She must be a lovely person." He stops smiling which scares me a bit. "She was a good person. However she recently passed away about 3 months ago. Which is the exact part that inspired me. Maybe this trip will help me move on." I almost cry when he finishes his sentence. Why would that happen to such a kind person? "I'm...sorry for your loss. May your mother Rest In Peace." He shakes his head and takes a breath and relaxes. "No...it's quite alright. Well let's not start this trip on a sad start! Sorry to ruin any mood you had. Let's find our purpose okay?" I smile at him widely. "Yeah. Lets find our purpose."
