Hey guys!
This is a new story from me, it's another Kellic, so I hope you'll all like it. This one's a bit different again, it's not just a normal High School AU, so I hope it'll be a lot of fun for me to write, and you to read!
Poppi xxx*KELLIN'S POV, FRIDAY NIGHT*
"I'm sorry, Sir, but it's our only option!" Pleaded the apartment manager from the other end of the phone.
"I pay $1200 a month to rent a home here, doesn't that qualify for my own room?" I ask, less than impressed with what the man was suggesting.
"Yes, Mr Quinn, we apologise for the inconvenience this may cause you, but until the damage has been repaired in your room from the flood, we're either going to have to let you stay with another tenant, or ask you to find your own accommodation elsewhere." He tells me, leaving me almost no choice but to comply.
I sigh in annoyance, but then agree, "Okay, but this is only temporary, right?" I ask him.
"Absolutely sir. We should be finished work in around ten weeks." He assures me.
"Okay, well, thanks anyway I guess." I say, implying that the conversation has come to an end.
"Thank you for your cooperation, we do apologise." He tells me again.
I cut the call and rest my head back against the wall.
Yesterday, heavy rain caused the drains to overflow, and the pipes in a few of the apartments in the building burst, and ended up flooding, leaving my room deemed unfit to live in.
Our manager guy, Jeremy, has only given me two options; move in with the guy next door, or leave.
Obviously, I had to choose the former.
Apartments in New York are fucking expensive, and at this short notice, it's too much of a bother.
This, under normal circumstances, would be perfectly fine.
Well, not fine, but I could deal with it.
Only, there is one slight problem. My next door neighbour goes by the name Victor Fuentes. He's a few years older than me, and is a crazy guy who's constantly drunk, is always throwing parties, or banging some girl in the stairwell.
Actually, he usually handles all three at once.
I, on the other hand, am quiet, calm, and possibly a bit of a nerd.
Ten weeks with him, well...
Let's just say it's not my exact idea of fun.
*THE NEXT DAY*
"Well," says Jeremy. "I'm glad to see you two have... Settled in."
By "settled" in, Jeremy of course, means, that there is already three empty beer cans on our coffee table, three guitars lying around the lounge, and about twelve framed vinyls on the wall.
I glance over at Vic, who's sitting, raging at the other end of the sofa.
He's already told me what half of the fridge is his, what times he has "reserved" both the TV and bathroom, and not to go in the cupboard under the sink. He's told me that his usual Friday through Sunday parties will commence, wether I'm here or not, and, of course "Not to mess with him, got it?"
Vic has clearly claimed this place as his own, even though Jeremy has repeatedly told us we are currently "equal owners of the new apartment"
His room was damaged too, in the flood, so Jeremy had let us stay in one of the vacant apartments in the building. He had helped move our stuff here- the majority of it being Vic's, as I only own some furniture, books and college stuff, a few records, and my record player.
"Yeah," Vic replies, rolling his eyes a bit at Jeremy's optimistic attitude.
"What about you, Kellin?" Jeremy asks looking towards me, "Are you happy with the new place?"
"What... Uh, yeah." I say, wrenched from my thoughts of how I'll possible survive living here for ten whole weeks. "Yeah. Yeah, it's fine, it's nice, it's bigger than my other apartment."
"Well," Replies Jeremy, "I'm just glad you like it. Thank you both for your cooperation in the matter, this is so much easier considering you guys are fine with it."
I almost scoff, but then Vic speaks up, "Yup. Everything's all fine and dandy here. We're definitely fine with it, aren't we, Kellin?" He asks, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
Jeremy either misses it, or ignores it, because he simply replies with another "Thank You," and leaves.
Vic sigh and leans back, resting his head on the back of the couch.
"Well," he says to me, "I'm just gonna call a couple of friends. We'll try and keep it down though, if you're... Studying..." He wrinkles his nose at the word.
"It's better than just wasting my time having sex and drinking beer." I retort.
He chuckles a little, and then pulls out his phone and dials a number, clearly indicating that our conversation is over.
As I walk down the corridor towards my room, I can hear Vic talking into the phone. "Tony!" He says, "Yeah, hey... uh, yeah, sure...No, actually," he lowers his voice, "I'm running out, but I've got this new roommate... Yeah long story... No, it doesn't matter...But I can't get it myself...well, okay... When you're getting stuff, pick some up for me...Yeah, dude... I'll pay you back later...Thanks...Get Jaime and Mike on the way, alright?...Yeah...Okay, thanks...See you later..."
Did I mention he's into drugs?
