What the hell is going on?

Waking up with Aurora wrapped around him had Bucky closing his eyes with pure happiness for a moment before the panic settled in. Turning his head to the large windows of the Tower showed him that the sun was up and had been for a little while. If he planned on leaving without anyone seeing him it would have to be now, but he didn't want to go anywhere. Pulling her closer Bucky brushed his lips across Aurora's forehead making her shift in her sleep. She'd asked him to stay with her and that's what he'd do.

Bringing the blanket up around them he smiled when she snuggled her face deeper into his neck and sighed happily. He'd never been happier than he'd been last night in her arms. Never slept better. Looking down at her with awe when he realized he didn't have any nightmares for the first time since he'd shipped out seventy years ago. Bucky marveled at the magic this woman had over him and made a vow to never let her go. She was his and he was hers. Closing his eyes he lay there running his right hand slowly, softly up and down her spine and basked in his new found happiness.

That is until the door to her bedroom bangs open and Tony comes in yelling, "Merry Chri- Barnes, what the hell is going on?"

Shit.

Before he could answer Aurora groggily lifted her head with wide eyes before she lay pressed as close to him as she could with the blanket tight around her. "Tony what the hell! Get out!"

"Someone want to explain to me what he's doing here?" Her very angry godfather demands to know, pointing at a very naked Bucky. He went to sit up and stammer out a reply when she beat him to it.

"It's very clear what James is doing here. We were sleeping after a great night of sex. Now, can you not ruin Christmas by being an asshole and get the fuck out so we can get dressed?" Both men stare at Aurora in shock before sharing a look. Tony clearly wants to beat his face in by the expression of rage in his eyes. Bucky's guilt comes rolling back in, but he made a silent promise this morning. If she would have him he wasn't going anywhere.

"Fine, don't say I didn't warn you." Aurora threw the blanket back and stood up, making Tony quickly turn around. Slipping on Bucky's dress shirt and buttoning it up enough to cover herself she says, "I'm a big girl and can sleep with whoever I want. No one, not even you, will tell me otherwise. I like James and I won't have you ruining this for us." Her eyes hold his and she gives him one of her beautiful smiles making his heart leap in his chest at the emotion he sees there for him.

Checking that she had clothes on Tony glances over his shoulder at her. Turning around he glared over at a still naked Bucky barely covered with the blanket before turning back to his goddaughter. "I want you to be happy, but you know how I feel about you dating anyone that does what we do."

"I know, but the heart wants what the heart wants uncle Tony." She tells the older man with a shrug, at her words her uncle's eyes widen. "Who would you have me date huh? Some wall street douchebag who only wants me for my status as an Avenger and my family's money or Bucky who will do anything to keep me safe and doesn't care about any of that." She continued to defend him while he sat there like a dope.

All he could think of was her comment about what the heart wants. Did that mean she felt the same as him? His heart pounded hard in his chest at the thought of her loving him back. Bucky stared up at Tony not knowing what he could say or do. His voice seemed to have completely abandoned him as he sat there while Tony and Aurora talked. The other man's jaw clenched as he thought over the options she had given him and seemed to come to a decision when his face softened.

Tucking some of her hair behind her ear Tony gave her a small smile before turning hard eyes on him. "If you break her heart they'll never find your body. Do I make myself clear Barnes?" Aurora punched him hard in the chest and glared up at Tony for threatening him.
