A/N: This is still chapter one. I just thought that the first chapter would be too long if I added this aswell. ~Edith .xx
Helping that girl with the browny blonde hair was the best decision I have ever made. Seeing her eyes flutter open when I layed her on the stretcher made me feel heroic. Made me feel like I'd changed someone's life. I hope she wouldn't be in the hospital for long. If she were going to be there overnight, I would have to visit. Why didn't Paige tell us she had a friend? We would have made her fell welcome.
The first thing I heard from Paige today was, 'Boys! Paul! Someone! Help!'. I was the last one out, thinking Paige was just getting out attention to get her a coffee or something, like normal. But that's when I saw her. The blonde girl, her body sprawled out on the floor, her chest rising and falling rapidly fast. Way too fast to be normal. I pushed my way through Liam and Zayn who were holding a conversation about Perrie and Danielle, their girlfriends. I then pushed through Louis, Niall and Paul was the hardest to get past, considering he's a bodyguard. Niall was still infront of them all; eager to see his girlfriend.
I ran to Paige, who was absolutely frantic and had no clue what to do. I kneeled beside the unconcious girl on the floor while Niall calmed Paige down. "What happened? I asked Paige, getting out of breath myself.
"She just fell. We were talking and she fell. All I heard was a 'thud' from behind my desk." She was rushing her words and flailing her arms, it was very hard to understand her when she was in this state of mind. Niall hushed her and told her to calm down. Paige isn't someone to who stays concious when she's frantic. If one, I don't think we need two unconcious girls today.
"Ring the ambulance Louis! " I instructed the oldest brother. He always had his phone out, so why not put it to use? He already had. Perfect. Now, my focus was to see what happens to the girl on the floor. Her breathing was still rapid, her chest thumping to the beat of dubstep music. Her eyes were closed, mouth, slightly hung open. He arms were spread over the floor, motionless. I decided it wuold be a good idea to get some water into her as soon as her eyes open. "Paul, would you be able to fetch some water?" I asked, hoping he would take orders from me. He did. Everything was going well, except, her goddamn eyes would't open.
There's no explanation to describe how worried I am. The terror rippling through my body like a cat hissing. The worry lashing through my eyes of visuals that might have happened during the fall. I have never been this worried. Ever. I don't know why I am now. I have never met this girl before and I'm only seeing her for the first time now. But, overall, I feel protective of her. Like, she's been hurt emotionally and damaged physically. I would help her if I could.
Paul arrived with a styrofoam cup full of water to the brim. Paul looked pretty flushed too. I shook the girl, desperately trying to wake her and pull her into conciousness again.. She didn't. Everyone was watching cautiously. By their faces, too shocked to do anything. I picked her up immediately when the ambulance arrived and carried her lifeless body to the stretcer. Paul stayed motionless, like she is, with the water in his hands. I lloked behind me, Niall was walking into another corridor with Paige, obviously trying to calm her. Liam, Louis and Zayn watched with horror as did Paul.
She flickered her eyes open as soon as her body was stable on the stretcher. Her green eyes that look similar to my eyes, stared back into mine. I watched as her chests' rising and falling, dramatically decrased in speed and went back to a calm, mellow rate. I smiled at her and ran back inside before Niall led Paige to the ambulance too, making the girl more comfortable to be with someone she knows.
I sat in the corner of a room that no one ever went into. It was a meeting room. We already use a different one at the end of the hall. I sat there and curled myself up into a ball. I couldn't contain how proud of myself, I was. I let tears slip out of my eyes. I helped save an innocent life. I helped a stranger live another day in her life.
