5. chp. 4

Lottie POV

It's been a day since I relearned how to use a skateboard. The rest of that day was uneventful, I did a few tasks for my work, trimmed my hair, and went to bed. Now I'm currently try to plan out how to reconnect with Cherry and Joe without making it awkward.

I left the chat before anything happened. I could already hear my phone explode with notifications of the group from Cherry and Joe, but at least the conversation shift from me ghosting them for over a year. 

I was going to go to my computer to get some work done but I got another notification, it was a private message from Joe. 

"Hey, do you want to go out to eat at 4:30pm?"
[9:49am]
"Maybe. I don't know."
[9:50am]
"Always such loose answers"
[9:50am]
"Shut up."
[9:51am]

Loosing my focus and will to do any of my work, I picked up my skateboard and went to the skatepark. 

Reki's POV 

I went to skate at the skatepark alone today. Langa and I were going to meet up at this ramen shop in an hour so I have enough time to practice. I saw a girl with a mask on, it was the same one from the other day. She.. She was really good. She looked like she was even better than Miya?

I don't know what her level is in skateboarding but she was doing really good. Maybe she could help me! I walk towards her and the closer she got the more familiar she was. 

"Hey!" She stop herself and looked over at me. She stared down at me before she took her phone out, typing something on it, and walked towards me. 

"Hello? Do you need something?"

"Oh um." It was more embarrassing than I thought it would be to stay it out and kind of weird as she was using a text to speech so I was basically talking to a robotic voice box. "I'm Reki and.. Could you help me skate?"

"Are you in S?" I nervously nodded my head. Huh? She already knew that I was from S? I mean, I knew that challenging Adam would cause a lot of controversy around me... But I've never seen her there before, someone that good would have already gotten attention from the people at S.  

"Who are you having a beef with?" 

"Adam!" After that there was a moment of silence. 

"Give me some time to think of a way to help you, meanwhile show me what you are able to do." 

I showed her what I thought was impressive and we clicked really well and ended up spending nearly an hour together. It was to the point where I almost forgot I had to meet up will Langa.

 "Oh frick! I forgot, I got to go. Before I leave let's exchange numbers so I can text you when and where we'll meet up tonight!" We put our numbers in each other phones. 

I was going to leave but I got a thought. If she was going to help me then she should meet Langa. It's the only logical thing to do as he was my bestfriend. I turned around and ran towards her to invited her to go out and eat with me and Langa, she agreed and off we were to a ramen shop.

Lottie's POV

Reki and I walk to a local ramen place, I don't have that much money with me but it's fine because I'm not planning on eating. I preferred keeping my mask up. (remember to wear a mask and stay safe from covid or just germs in general)

 I sat down on the second to last seat, next to Reki. The bar table was a seat longer than usual ones. I was going to text Joe on my decision of not going out to eat with him when a very familiar figure sat down next to me. 

Dun dun dunnnn, it was Joe who would have expected that. Totally not me. /s

Reki introduced me to his friend Langa. "So, this is Langa, Langa meet someone who's super cool and going to help me with my beef with Adam. Her name is-" He stop himself realizing that he never asked for my name, it took him long enough. 

"Call me Liv" (Did I stole that from a character? Yes) My robotic text speech spoke. 

Joe glanced over to me and raised an eyebrow. I simply shrugged his confused look and slightly dozed off. They started to talk about the Adam guy reki was going to skate against, bringing her back in to listen in their conversation. 

"So who's this Adam guy?" 
"He's the founder of S, I don't know much of him but the other founders like Joe and Cherry as well as veterans of S most definitely know." Reki was saying this information like he was sure of it, but who was I to comment, I didn't know who Adam before this experience. 

"That's not true," Joe butted in, " I was skating with Adam way before S and not all veterans know Adam." He gave me a side glance when he mentioned veterans, clearly he saw my blank face when they started to take about Adam. 

The duo, well when I say duo, I mean Reki, were for the most part, dumbfounded that Joe was next to them and they didn't notice. Reki started to gush over him before getting pulled into a side hug from Joe.

He looked like he couldn't breath, was I going to do anything to help my new friend though? Nope. I began to zone out before hearing a certain phrase with a tone that seemed more so directed to me than not.

"It's true, many people have already quit skating" I assumed that this comment from Joe, was a response to veterans knowing about Adam. 

I decided that it was my time to leave, I've felt that my social bar was already empty even without having to talk. Not to mention, Reki invited me to go to crazy rock to help him practice. I bid my goodbyes (through texts of course) and headed out.

Did I rush this and spent a bit over a hour on the last 400ish words just to get this out on time? Yes. Am I happy with the results and can I see my improvements with the writing and more stable plot? Yeah, a bit. Do I have anymore premade chapters many you're most likely domed? mhm.
