Chapter 23

Toby's P.O.V
My breathing slowed down but I still had tears in my eyes. After Nathan left, I broke down, how the hell could this happen? My mind kept looking for answers, until they found one. I growled, and punched the wall in anger, "Sir?" Asked a woman, I turned around and saw a lady she looked about thirty, and she looked extremely tired, she gave a small smile and gestured towards Liz room.

I took a deep breath and entered the room, first thing I saw was Liz's lifeless body, the only thing that looked alive in this room was the heart monitor. I sat on the chair next to her bed and took her hand in mine, "Hey Liz. I know you can hear me. We miss you. Please wake up." I say, my voice cracking. I squeezed her hand, praying she'll squeeze back, "This is all my fault. I got too attached to you, I knew I shouldn't have. I'm sorry" I say, sobbing.

"It's to cold outside, for angels to fly" I sing softly, " for angels to fly" sang a familiar voice, I looked up and saw Liz with a smile on her soft lips, her eyes were closed, but that didn't matter she was awake!

"Liz!" I screamed excitingly, I jumped onto the bed with her and hugged her to death. "Can't. Breath. Toby." She said gasping for air, I let go and smiled at her "sorry" I say, "wait how long have I been out?" She says stretching her arms but wincing, " about six weeks" I say trying to remember what Nath said.

Her eyes widened and she slapped me right across the face, "what the actual hell!" She screeches, " first of all, Ow! Second, wait you don't remember?" I say frowning.

"Remember what? And why the hell am I in a hospital room?" She says eyeing the room curiously, " Liz, you've been in a coma. For six weeks. Or months I'm not sure yet I didn't hear Nathan quite correctly" I say shaking my head and looking straight at her " but that doesn't matter right now. You're awake! That's what matters right now" I say smiling.

She returns the smile and nods " I'll go inform the doctor that you're awake" I say taking her hand and settling a small kiss on it. She smiles and nods, blushing a bit. I laugh and go find the doctor.

Taking a turn through the hallway I spot the doctor but stop dead in my tracks when I see the person who I despise more in this world.

Klause.

"Klause" I say, spitting the name out of my mouth as if it was poison, he eyed me up and down, clenching hist fist " Where is Elizabeth?" he says, glaring at me.

I smirk and step forward, making him take a step backwards, " resting, and away from you" I say putting my hands in my pockets and return his glare. " she is my girlfriend. I need to know" he says, through gritted teeth, I scoff and step forward " you are nothing to her anymore. You are the reason she's in here. You're the reason she almost died!" I yell out of anger.

He takes a deep breath and unclenches his fist "that is only half true" he says pointing a finger in my direction "but we all know it was you, and Olivia!" He says, spitting her name like if it was venom.

"Don't fucking tell me anything about Olivia!" I yell, glaring at him, and ready to punch his fucking accent out of his mouth. " And you are not so innocent your self, Olivia was your wife. Remember Klause?" I say smirking, his eyes widened and his fist collides with my jaw.

I chuckle at the blood coming from my mouth and wipe it away " I'm not the only one with secrets Klause. Remember that" I say, before walking away and back to liz room.
