The New Home

I sighed as we pulled into the driveway of my new house. THE new house. The house my family had to move to because my father got a new job 600 miles away from our old house. The worst part is, I have to go to a new stupid school with new stupid people. Just kill me already. "Maddie, can you carry these boxes in for me please?" My mom asked. I groaned as I took the boxes from her arms and carried them into the house that is now mine. As I walked into the house, I cringed at the ugly brown and green interior. "Ugh.. Who would make a house this color?" I muttered to myself. After I set the boxes of kitchen utensils on the floor, I decided to go upstairs and check out the rest of this place. When I got upstairs, I almost vomited at the sight I saw.

There it was, lying on the floor, rotting. A dead cat. "Oh my god.." I heard someone whisper. I jumped and spun around to see my father standing there. "Jesus dad! You scared me!" I said as he just laughed. "I wonder how long this little guy has been here. Poor thing," He said. "I don't know," I replied, "but you can take care of this, I don't want to touch a rotting cat corpse." "Alright Maddie, you can start to unpack now, if you want." He said. I walked into the room next to the room with the rotted cat, and saw that the walls were just my color.. Black. "Yes! A perfect room for a perfect girl like me! Haha.." I thought as I flipped back my long black hair. I started to unpack my clothes when I felt something hit the back of my head.

I turned around to see Hunter, my little 6 year old brother, standing there looking all innocent with a Nerf gun in his hand. "Come here you!" I said as I started to chase him down the hallway. I catch him and he starts to giggle and squeal. "Aw. He's so adorable. I wish he could stay this young forever.." I thought as I started to tickle him. All of a sudden I hear my mom scream.

"Mom? MOM!" I scream as I run down the stairs. "Mom?! Where are you?! Are you okay?" I run into the kitchen to see her backed up against the kitchen counter pointing at a caterpillar on the floor. "Really?!" I think to myself. "Mom, calm down. It's just a little caterpillar." I pick up the caterpillar and show it to her. "See? Isn't he cute?" "No, it is not cute. Now get it out of here!!!" She replied. "Wow, you screamed as loud as when you got that gecko stuck in your hair." I retorted with a smirk.

"Oh shut up Maddie, now get that disgusting little creature out of this house!"

"Only if you hold him."

"No, I will not hold that disgusting thing."

"Come on, please?"

"Madison Lily Parker, take that disgusting thing outside, NOW!"

"Okay okay, I'm going, Geez."

As I walk outside, I can still hear my mom grumbling about how bugs are gross and how they should all be extinct. Oh, maybe I should tell you. My mom is afraid of all bugs, even butterflies. When she was a little girl, she got attacked by bugs on a camping trip. Big, black bugs. I know it sounds crazy, but now she won't even look at a picture of any bug without screaming her head off. Weird right? I found a little bush and placed my caterpillar friend onto one of the leaves. "Bye my little friend, have a nice life!" I said. Wow, I'm talking to a bug. This house must be making me crazy..

That night, I lied in bed, unable to sleep. I mean, tomorrow was my first day of school and all. "God dammit," I think to myself as I look at my clock. "It's already 2 A.M. I need some sleep or else I'll never be able to get up tomorrow. Alright Maddie, just take a deep breath and try to fall asleep."

I woke up to find myself in a forest. "Wha..? Where am I?" I look around to see a giant cockroach-like creature feasting on a dead deer not so far from me. I have to force myself not to scream as it turns its ugly head to face me. "Maybe if I stay still and don't move, it won't sense my presence.." I think to myself. The creature starts to walk towards me, making weird gargling noises. "It notices me..!" I go into panic mode and do the only thing I thought of to do, start running and screaming. So, I do just that. I can hear the thing behind me as I run through the thick forest trees. Unfortunately, I don't see the root until I trip over it. I see the giant thing behind me, and I decide to accept my fate.

All of a sudden I wake up in my own house, in my own bed. "Ugh. Thank god that was a dream." I mutter to myself. I look at my clock, 7:30 A.M. Oh god, I'm late for school, I forgot to set my alarm! I get up, eat breakfast and I'm luckily out the door by 7:45. Good thing I know where my school is at, or else I'd be an hour late at least.

When I arrive, all of the kids are already in their classes. I look at my schedule, "Ah, time for English with Mr. D'Nice... Awesome name.." I say to myself, "Ah, here it is!" I open the door and see a bunch of kids turn to look at me. "You're late. Sit. Now," says who I'm guessing is Mr. D'Nice. "Uh, I'm sorry," I say as I take a seat next to a pretty blonde girl, "I was just-" "No one needs to hear your excuses. I'm guessing you are Madison, correct?" he says. "Yeah, I am." I reply a bit sarcastically. God, I hate it when people interrupt me, it is one of my biggest pet peeves. "Ah, well. I was just informing the class about something until you decided to interrupt." He says with a smirk. "I didn't decide to be late you old bag." I say under my breath.

"Haha, you're funny," A voice behind me says. "By the way, I'm Tyler Morris."

"Heh, thanks, and I'm Madison Parker, but you can just call me Maddie."

"Parker, quiet." Mr. D'Nice says. "Did he really just call me by my last name?!" I think to myself. "I heard that Mr. D'Nice isn't the kindest teacher, he's actually one of the meanest here," Tyler says, "And yes, he calls kids by their last name, I hate it too." "I just got to this school and I already hate it.." I thought, "This is going to be a great year.."

After class, Tyler and I said our goodbyes and went to our next class. As I was walking, I saw some of those cliche popular girls looking at me and laughing. I totally forgot I was in my "emo" look. I had on my combat boots, black skinny jeans, my Black Veil Brides t-shirt, and of course, my long, black hair had a red stripe through it. "Ugh, just ignore them Maddie, it's not worth it." I think to myself as I give them all a death glare, and continue on to my next class.

During lunch, I decide to meet up with Tyler. I see him near some jocks and popular kids. "Oh great. He's friends with the jocks." I think to myself. He sees me and pulls me over to his group. "Guys, I'd like you to meet my girlfriend, Maddie." "Girlfriend?!" I think. "Hey um, Tyler, can I speak to you? Privately.." I say. "Uh, sure..," he says. I drag Tyler away from his friends. "What are you doing? We just met today! I'm not your girlfriend!" I say. "Ah, just play along, unless you don't want to be my fake girlfriend." He says with a smirk. "Ugh, fine, but we're just friends, nothing more." I reply. We walk back over to his friends and one of them gives me a little grin. "What were you two doing over there?" he asks. "We were makin' out." Tyler says with a smirk, and I just roll my eyes.

A/N: Hey guys! Wolfie here. Hopefully this first chapter wasn't too bad, but I mean, this is my first story and all. By the way, did Tyler do a good thing, or was it wrong of him to introduce Maddie as his girlfriend? Tell me what you think in the comments! (I always reply). Anyways, thanks for reading! :3

A/N #2: Okay so, I decided to edit this chapter and make it look better, so this is just an update, nothing has changed, I promise. I just fixed up the dialogue and corrected some spelling errors, soooo, Yeah. ~Wolfie <3
