HIGHWAY TO HELL
LIFE WAS NEVER EASY FOR JENNIFER WINCHESTER. After their mother died, she and her three siblings were thrust into a world that they never expected to be part of at such a young age. They lived out of cheap motels and their dad's car for the entirety of their childhood, and their dad even taught them how to hunt supernatural creatures and hustle people in pool to earn some quick cash.
JENNIFER NEVER TRULY CARED FOR HER FATHER GROWING UP. He was always gone, hunting a supernatural creature, sometimes even an entire state away. Despite the fact that they were children themselves, Dean and Jude were the ones to stay behind and protect and nurture both her and Sam. And whenever their father was with them, he didn't even pay much attention to them anyway. His mind was always somewhere else.
BY THE TIME SHE WAS A TEENAGER, Jennifer wanted out. She had watched her older sister leave a few years before, and wished that Jude was there with her. She was tired of living her life on the road, always moving from one place to the next and never having a proper home. When she graduated high school, she applied for nursing schools all over the country. She made sure all the letters were sent to the home of their father's friend, Bobby Singer, who had always been there for them when John Winchester wasn't.
BOBBY WAS SO PROUD OF HER when she got accepted into one of her top choices for school. But her older brother, Dean, was not at all enthused. When Jennifer left, the relationship she had with her older brother and father became even more strained. It was to the point where they didn't even speak to each other anymore. But she didn't care whether her dream of saving lives as a nurse rather than a hunter hurt them. It was her life and she was going to live it however she wanted.
SAM WAS THE ONLY ONE TO UNDERSTAND how she felt growing up. And not too long after she left to have a normal life, he stood up to their father and did the same thing. Jennifer was so happy the day her little brother had called to tell her that he was going to law school. She cried over the phone and wished more than anything that she could have hugged him and ruffled his hair like she used to do when they were kids.
