*Jacks P.O.V*

It was fun having a dragon race since Hiccup did seem a little down in the dumps for some reason. It seemed weird because even though hiccup was a big ball of charm, he still seemed to be in a depressed state of mind. I felt a snag on the collar of my armor and turned to see Queen Tara standing there.

"Sorry for intruding on your thoughts." She said.

"Oh you weren't, its okay." I said.

She smiled. "Good, I was wondering how hiccup was doing. He seemed to be in a state of depression mixed with sadness." She said.

I shrugged. "I'm just as lost as you are, ma'am." I say. "But I will talk to him."

She smiled. "Good, I hope he is okay, let me know." She turned and walked toward the commons of the castle. I sighed, turning towards the hall where our room lied at the end. I walked the extremely long hallway, coming to a stop at the red oaken door that had our names on the handle. I turned the knob and entered into the room.

Hiccup was nowhere I could see, but the bathroom's light gave me a sudden realization that he might be in there. I walk over to the door and knock hoping for an answer right away. To my disappointment, he didn't answer. I knew I was asking for it but I twisted the knob to the bathroom and walked in, hoping for a bright red hiccup but instead got his armor sprawled out on the floor. Seems like someone was in a hurry to get out of it.

"Jaaack!" I turned my head to see Alex standing there. "I need help with freezing something in the kitchen." She asks.

I chuckle. Of course she needs help with something like that. With one more conspicuous look into the bathroom, I shut it and follow Alex down to the kitchen. I saw Ronan catch up to us, a shorter boy with brown hair parted in the middle following behind him.

"Hey Jack," Ronan said. "You've met Nod, right?"

I raised a brow seeing the sarcasm already plastered to the guys face. "No, I haven't." I say.

"Well he is my assistant Leafman." General Ronan said. "And Nod, this is Jack."

"Sup," the guy said with a calm grin on his face. "Where's the other guardian?"

"I don't know, he wasn't in our room," I say. I found it strange that Jack would go out without his armor, but then again he was hiccup. All he cares about is me and keeping the peace. He is fine no matter where he wines up.

"That sucks," Nod said. "Whatcha doin now?" He asked, clearly sticking his nose in where it didn't belong. Not like I was keeping secrets but now I know how bunny felt when I'd constantly be a jackass to him.

"Alex is showing me the kitchen,"I pointed, "she needed help with freezing something."

"No way?! You can freeze shit?" He asked, his eyes almost out of his head.

"Uh... Yes?"

"So coool! I didn't know power like that existed." He chirped.

I raised an eyebrow. "Yet you are a tribe of tiny people who use birds to fly around with." I say.

He opened his mouth to click his tongue, "touché."

Ronan stepped in with a witty smile. "He is a guardian and guardians I hear have their own special ability."

"Really? What does Hiccup have?" Nod asked.

"He uses light. He can basically vanquish evil with it and also... We haven't proved it yet, but we think he can heal people with it." I explained.

"So... Can he kill people?" Nod asked.

I chuckled. "I doubt his power would let him. He has the heart and soul of a dragon. His whole existence is based on keeping peace no matter who is on the other side. His power resembles himself and I think that's the reason why I doubt he could harm someone." Or kill. Those words seemed hard to say considering he did kill Pitch.

"So cool!" Nod said.

General Ronan sighed of defeat. "Well I got to go," he turned to Nod, "don't get into any trouble."

Nod raised his hands in the air like he was being pulled over by a cop. "I won't, pops." He said.

With that, General Ronan left Nod, Alex and I behind. About to open my mouth, something poked my back hard. With a turn I see a fat slug standing behind me and a thinner one with a shell on.

"What are you staring at, flat face?" The fat one said.

My body felt awkward just hearing the thing talk. His skinnier pal smiled at the remark.

"Uh..." Was all I could manage.

"What? Ya never seen a talking slu~ug?" He asked running what looked like his arms down his slimy stomach. I was horribly confused at to what I was meeting.

"Uh... No I've never... Uhm.. Seen a talking snail before." I managed.

The thicker one gasped and then, with one swift movement he popped his eyes behind him. "Do I look like I gotta shell?" He asked.

"No?"

"That's right," he corrected, "I ain't no snail, I am a slug." He hissed bitterly. He bumped me with his belly and brought up his short hands into fists. "Wanna go?"

"Mub! Leave Jack alone," Nod said.

"Why should I flat face?" Mub asked.

"Maybe you should listen to him, Mub." The thinner one said.

"And why should I, Grub?" Asked Mub.

"I'm still here ya know, and I still need ya Jack." Alex said, interrupting our conversation.

Mub-clearly seeing her for the first time- made a face of pure flirtatious. "Oh hey baby giiirl!" He said. "Whatcho name?"

Alex scoffed. "None of your business slug," she said.

"Oh, but it is my business." He brought his eyes over to me and glared. "I saw her first." He said.

I chuckled. "Go ahead, I'm taken." I told him. "But she's not," I point.

"Jack!" Alex gripped my wrist and off we went down the hall. She was clearly upset with me, but I couldn't help but snicker loudly. "That's not funny!" She said.

"Ya gotta admit, its a little funny." I say.

She rolled her eyes and stomped off. I followed behind, trying to keep my snickering unnoticible, but I was seriously failing.
