A giant hand reached down and grabbed (Y/N)'s mother out of their house. "Mom!!!" she screamed, reaching up trying to grab for her hand.

"No (Y/N)! Stay hidden. I love you so much. Please remember that, and stay safe." The titan brought her to its almost inhuman grin and slowly opened its mouth. "I love you (Y/N)." those were her last words before she was devoured by the titan.

"No. Please don't go," (Y/N) whispered with her hand still outstretched, trying desperately to somehow save her mother. Then as if the titan had just noticed her for the first time, it turned to the young girl and smiled that awful grin that she had already grown to hate. Reaching for the girl, it grabbed her in its hand. She couldn't fight back. (Y/N) was frozen in shock and fear over losing her mother. Slowly the titan raised the girl to its mouth. Still clutched in its hand she screamed,

"No!!!" (Y/N) jumped out of her bed, landing on the floor from the sudden and unexpected movement. Suddenly the door to (Y/N)'s room opened and a dark figure stood in the light, casting a shadow over the already dark room. Disoriented and frightened, she tried to reach for anything that she could use as a weapon against the mystery figure.

"Oi. Cadet (L/N). What the hell are you doing on the floor?" said the figure. She suddenly realized who the voice belonged to.

"C-Captain Levi?!" (Y/N) tried to get up to give her Captain a proper salute but as soon as she stood she was hit with a wave of dizziness from the sudden movement. (Y/N) prepared to fall face first into the floor, but instead felt a strong pair of arms wrap around her waist, catching her before she could hit the ground. The arms carried her back to bed and gently sat her down. Looking up, (Y/N) saw that it was Captain Levi who had caught her. A deep blush settled on her face as she realized that the captain's arms were still around her.

As if he read her mind, Captain Levi quickly let go of (Y/N) and stood back up with a slight blush on his face. "Next time don't try to get up so fast brat. I don't need you getting yourself injured right before we are supposed to go on an expedition."

"My apologies Captain Levi. I was just surprised to see you in my room." Regaining her composure, (Y/N) sat up straighter. With a confused look on her face (Y/N) turned to her Captain. "If you don't mind me asking sir. Why are you in my room?"

There was a quick glint of something like nervousness that flashed in Captain Levi's eyes before going back to his usual stoic expression. "I was on my way to my office when I heard a scream followed by a loud thump come from your room..." Levi looked down as if trying to avoid (Y/N)'s gaze.

"Is he... blushing?" (Y/N) thought. Quickly she shook the idea away, not believing that the usually stoic Captain Levi would be blushing. She was still lost in thought when she heard the Captain speak.

"Cadet?"

"Yes Captain Levi?"

"Why did you scream?" the Captain asked looking genuinely concerned. At this point (Y/N) was beginning to wonder what it was "Humanity's Strongest" was really doing in her room.

Sure, it was a nice gesture and she probably shouldn't be thinking so deep into it. But still. (Y/N) couldn't help but wonder the truth behind the odd kindness of her Captain. Many a times she had heard other cadets scream in their sleep from various nightmares, but never had Captain Levi ever visited them. So why was it that he chose to make sure that she was ok?

Despite the oddness of the situation, (Y/N) soon realized that she felt... comfort in Levi's presence. Something about the short and rather abrasive man made her feel safe and comforted. Almost as if nothing could hurt her any longer. A silly thought, yes. But a nice one she chose to hold onto.
