A normal high school day…. Maki joins her new class and silently tries to move through with it.
Lately, the disappearance of people has been quite the news.
This was the second time an S grade creature had been seen on this planet and it was different from all the rest.
The S grade beast BLACK GATE had a protective force field that was impenetrable… and its motive was not destroying all it sees, the way it moves and acts was unique and nothing like the federation *the organization that observes and takes action against graded beasts* had ever seen.
At first it took little to no action… it just moved around.
Then it took someone, that is when it first happened, as the man entered its mouth he disappeared….into nothing...no traces of him were left behind.
No attacks against this being worked, and this beast was way too fast for normal rankers, as soon as the beast devours a human its physical powers get multiplied by a 100. It was fascinating to even those who know nothing of it.
Now it's way too fast to even notice the creature…
We just have to keep living knowing that we could be the next victim any moment.
Back to the present,
Maki doesn't talk much and she hates this class, her classmates are way too overjoyed and happy… as if they know nothing of that is happening to the outside world. That is when she met someone else in the same class as her….. Who feels like he hates everyone too.
After class ends she introduced herself to him and he actually seems like a nice guy.
That is kagami ryuzaki.
A few weeks passed, maki and kagami became well accompanied friends…They felt similar and close to each other… one might say they are two pieces of the same puzzle.
But one day…..Kagami disappeared. He didn't come to school, the place they usually ate food, he wasn't even home!.
She waited for him for a few days. Soon she started to panic, she thought to herself…...what if??.
Lately… she was so mixed up in joy with her friend she forgot about all the chaos around her.
She felt depressed and lonely without his presence, she fell asleep thinking to herself she might never meet him again.
The next day… When maki entered the school, an assembly was taking place with an announcement which shook everyone.
26 hours ago, the federation announced that a 17 year old male, kagami ryuzaki was the 54th human that was devoured by the S grade beast BLACK GATE and was declared as deceased.
