Screams and gunshots could be heard from the balcony. Maikoni, Hirano, Aruki, and Takashi observed the streets filled with 'them'. Maikoni grip tightened around the gun. How were they supposed to leave now? Footsteps were heard coming from behind them. She turned slightly to see Saeko coming through the door. Saeko walked towards the group to see the commotion. Takashi glanced at her before handing her the binoculars.
She took them and looked at the street. "It's getting worse for sure." Aruki grabbed the binoculars from Saeko and looked. Takashi clicked his tongue. "Damn it. This is horrible." As he walked away Hirano turned around. "Komuro!"
Takashi turned and looked at him. "What?!" Aruki lowered the binoculars and glanced at them. "You shoot them, but then what?" asked Hirano. Takashi glared at him. " It's it obvious?! I'll shoot them and..."
Saeko glanced at Takashi. "Did you forget? They react to sounds, Komuro." She walked away from them to head back inside. Hirano looked at her then blushed and held his nose before it bled. Takashi followed her inside and she turned off the lights. "And the live ones swarm around looking for light and us." Her eyes narrowed. "And of course we're not capable of saving all the live ones out there. Watch it and get used to it. The world has turned into a place where being manly is no longer good enough to survive." She continued her way downstairs.
Takashi glanced outside then back at her. "I thought you would look at it a little differently." She paused her steps and looked at him once more. "Don't get me wrong, Komuro. I'm only speaking of reality. I don't necessarily like it." She turned back around and went downstairs.
Maikoni was silently staring at the zombie infested streets. Her eyes were glazed over and her grip tightened around the gun. She heard something coming from the streets but she couldn't figure out where it came from. She tried to listen out for the sound again but she couldn't hear it anymore. Her eyes moved to the gun she was holding. If she couldn't hear where it came from maybe she could look for the sound. She held the gun up and looked out the scope. She was going to find the sound one way or another.
Hirano was still holding his nose when Takashi came back outside. "Try to keep it down when you check outside." He told Takashi. Aruki tapped Takashi's shoulder and held out the binoculars. "Here. You might need them if you're planning to look at the streets." Takashi grabbed them and smiled. "Thanks." He lifted them to his face and looked around. All he could see was 'Them' eating people. "This is hell." He moved his sight to the left and saw a father with his daughter running towards someone's house.
Aruki walked over to Maikoni and looked in the direction she was looking in. He squinted his eyes to see what she was looking at. All he could see was 'Them' eating people, so what was she seeing? As if reading his mind she hands him the gun she was using. He grabs it and looks through the scope.
"I heard something and couldn't hear it again so I figured I would look for the sound." She told him. He continued to look through the scope. "And did you find the source of the noise?" She grabs the gun and turns it slightly while he is still looking. "There. I think I just heard the dog, but he's running towards something." Aruki hummed and followed the dog through the scope.
Down below the man opened the gate for him and his daughter to get through. The daughter looked up at him. "Papa, where's Mama?" He pulled her inside then closed the gate. "We'll meet up with Mama later. Come on this way." He walked towards the door and banged on it. "Please let us in! I've got a child and we have no way to evacuate!" He placed his ear on the door to listen inside then banged on the door once more. "Please let us in!"
A voice came from inside. "Get away! Go somewhere else!" The father paused his knocking. "Please, open the door! I have my daughter with me!" The lights turned off. The father balled his fists in anger. His daughter looked at him. "Papa?" He raised the wrench around his head. "Open it! If you don't, I'll destroy the door!" His daughter took a step back. "Papa!"
