The Battle for the Cities

It had been four hours since Erebus appeared and the guys left to defend the major cities. Charles was making all of New Jersualem's warriors armor into his Herculean power armor, Cayden was setting up his army, Matthew had begun finishing setting up traps and barricades, Wyatt was rallying New Italy's army into battle and setting up defenses and Connor was making traps and rallying all his cities forces.
What was I doing you may ask? Oh you know what anyone would do about now. I was sitting in my bed trying to think of how to win this fight.
My forces were all together and everything was ready. Except me. I knew that the largest attack would be coming here. My forces and I, with my own powers, wouldn't be enough for millions of mobs.
"Your right. You won't be enough." A familiar voice said.
"Are you here to say goodbye or help me old man?" I said as I turned around to see Ethos. "It's good to see you Ethos."
"Caleb listen do you remember what Ashley told you?" He said.
"Well that narrows it down."
"About what makes you chaos."
"Something about how I am all the others elements and powers at the most dangerous level that they can't use and scares them." I said. "I'm not though I'm just what I've always been."
"Caleb when you passed your trials and the worlds merged you became even more powerful than ever." Ethos said. "God, when He came to tell you of what would happen, gave you the necessary power you'd need to win."
"So I can do everything the others can?" I asked.
"But stronger." He said. "Even more powerful. Listen to me Caleb, only you can decide if you survive this fight or not."
"I will survive." I said. I grabbed my old sword, I was better with this than the other and it had been the sword I made when this all started. "I will and so will my brothers."
"Good." He said and smiled. "Go win a war my boy." And with that he vanished.
I walked out to the porch off my room that overlooked the city. My entire army was at the gates. It wasn't fair for them to fight and die for a choice I made.
I heard something fly over head and than felt something land on my shoulder. It was my falcon I had been training, Leonidas. He was a large Peregrine Falcon, the fastest animal alive with a diving speed of over 240 mph.
"Hey boy." I said as I pet him. "You better go. I don't want you to get hurt."
Leonidas only screeched. Than he flew into the air and circled around for a bit. He dived down at another bird and got scratched while catching it.
"Damn bird. You act like you have armor to..." I trailed off. There was no way this would work. I whistled for my falcon who flew to my arm on command. "Come on boy I got a present for you."
I ran down into the forge with my falcon trying to hang on. I grabbed a few things of chainmail. "Now if Notch was right maybe I have Charles' ability to.." I trailed off again.
I concentrated on the metal and soon it was changing into Voidium. "PERFECT!" I yelled. I concentrated on the shape I wanted it to take and soon I had a Voidium chainmail thing of armor for my falcon.
I put it on Leonidas. He seemed to like it because he took off flying around the forge room. "Easy boy!" I yelled. The falcon than did something I didn't expect it to do.
Leonidas' body became enveloped in black flames. Soon my falcon had turned into a black flamed phoenix. He flew to my arm and the flames disappeared.
"Oh that's gonna be good. Come on boy lets go." I said as I shadow traveled my falcon and I to the stables.
My horse Caos was eating some hay. His armor shined in the sun. He looked up and noticed me. He came running to the fence and nuzzled my chest.
"It's good to see you too bud." I said. "I may not be coming back after this. You've been a good horse Caos. I want you to run if they come for you."
"I figured I'd find you here." Someone behind me said. I turned around to see Ashley.
"Ashley baby listen to me if I don't make it back I want you to take Caos and run ok? Take my family too." I said.
"Caleb your gonna come back." She said. "If you don't I'll..." Her voice broke and tears started falling down her face.
I wrapped her in my arms. "I will try and come back for you." I said. "I love you Ashley."
"I love you too Caleb." She said.
I heard the horns blow. I flashed on my armor and main weapons. "I'll see you later." I said as I kissed her one last time. "I got a war to win."
I sprouted my wings and took off towards the gates. My entire army was waiting for me. I landed on the top of the gates and quieted them down.
"Today we fight off the armies of hell!" I yelled. "Fight for honor! Fight for your children! Fight for your families!"
Everyone yelled and raised their weapons. "All men's souls are immortal! But only the souls of those who are willing to die for what they love are immortal and divine! I tell you this because today you all will fight for your immortality!
These monsters come to our city with the intentions of destroying all we love! Will you let them?" I yelled.
"NO!!" Everyone screamed at once.
"Than fight your hardest for all that you love!" I yelled. I jumped off the gates and landed in front of my army. "You are all a family! There's a brother on your left and another on your right! Fight for your family!"
I heard the sound of a enemy horn and thundering footsteps. "Charge!" I yelled as I lead the charge out of the gates.
I ran out of the gates with my army's first line of defense, thousands of spearman with shields locked together and pointed towards the enemy. I was in front of them charging on the enemy army with my shield in one hand and my sword raised in the other.
Before me was a army of at the very least a few hundred million mobs. My army was no match for this. I had to do something to keep them safe.
As I ran I stomped my foot down and a wall of dark energy erupted in a dome, leaving my forces and city protected. The only thing that wasn't was me.
Me versus a few hundred million mobs on my own? Didn't sound fair. To the mobs anyways.
If I could pull off one trick I could defeat them all easily... Well sorta easy.
As I ran at the mobs the shadows engulfed me like for my combat avatar but I kept growing till I was a 300 foot tall Spartan made of black fiery energy. My spiked Spartan armor, my helmet and wings all giant and engulfed in a black fire is what I'm gonna say haunted the enemies.
I stomped down and a thousand mobs were crushed by the shadows that engulfed them when my foot slammed. I swung my warhammer down at them and with each blow would take out a few thousand. Nothing could stop me. I was a giant invincible warrior of mass destruction. I sent tornadoes down that flew around the battle field like me and swallowed the mobs. I sent hurricane force winds, lightning, tornadoes and sent comets down on the mobs.
When there was only half a million mobs or so left I heard someone yell stop. Their voice sounded like metal. I knew who it was.
He flew above his forces than dropped. "You've done a fine job at destroying my army I will give you that." He said. "But how did your friends do?" With that he waved his hand and a image above appeared of New Cairo.
Cayden had taken to his giant combat avatar like I did. His was in the form of a giant man with a falcon head swinging his flail. He decided to be Ra, Egyptian God of the Sun.
As Cayden destroyed all the army he returned to normal and flew above the battle. Than I saw the sand move. A giant snake, about the size of the Empire State Building, jumped from the ground and swallowed my friend whole.
The scene than switched to New Jerusalem, Charles was fighting a hydra, Giants and what looked like a giant Cerberus. He seemed to be doing good until the hydra bit him in the leg. He incinerated it with his energy blast and than the Giants stomped on him and threw him around. He managed to blast two more Giants and Cerberus before the last giant overwhelmed him.
At Atlantis, Matthew was in a giant water avatar of Poseidon and seemed to have the situation under control. Than a giant man with a trident and fishing net came up. He matched Matthew in size. Him and Matthew engaged in combat. While fighting Matthew didn't notice the giant sea viper swimming behind him. The viper bit Matthew in the leg and while he was weakest the man jabbed his trident at him and threw the net over him.
Than Wyatt was seen against thirty Giants. He had taken out the rest of the army but I noticed that he erected a wall of ionized lighting that shielded the people in the city. Wyatt has blasting, slashing and stabbing the Giants. When it came down to the last five he was almost out of energy. One slammed him in the face with his club and when Wyatt got up he blasted two more. The Giants than overwhelmed him with another club hit and than throwing him into a tree.
Last was Connor at New Athens. All the enemy army except for some Giants, cyclops and hundred armed men were killed by him. He seemed out of energy and I noticed that the army he killed was only a few million mobs short of mine. The hundred armed men threw boulders at him while the cyclops and Giants moved in on him. Connor slipped up and a boulder fell on him. As he blasted it apart and got up a giant swung his club into his face and sent Connor flying. Connor shot blasts out that turned the hundred armed men and the giant to dust before being overwhelmed.
I noticed what Erebus had done. He seemed to realize it too. "Ah yes you like the irony?" He said. "I know of your love for mythology so I did this. Do you like it?"
Mythology went wrong. Zeus, Wyatt, was defeated by the Giants. Ra, Cayden, was swallowed by the giant Chaos Serpent Apophis. Poseidon, Matthew, was defeated by Oceanus and his old sea monsters. Kronos, Connor, was defeated by the Giants, cyclops and hundred armed children of Gaea, Kronos' brothers. And Hercules, Charles, had failed against the Giants, Hydra and Cerberus.
"The cities were spared. I merely wanted your friends to die." Erebus laughed. "Now what will you do?"
I couldn't believe it. My friends.. My brothers.. Dead or captured..
I disabled my giant avatar to return to normal height. They were gone... I was on my own.
There was no way I could do this alone.
Erebus laughed. "Everyone behold the great hero! Savior of Humanity!" He yelled as he turned around to his army. He turned back to me. "I think your friends should witness your demise. Bring forth the prisoners!"
I watched in horror as Matthew, Wyatt, Connor and Charles were brought before me. They were all beaten and bleeding. The mobs pushed them forward and they fell to the ground. I ran to pick them up.
I hadn't noticed that when I reverted to my normal state the wall around my city subsided. My forces had seen the entire thing. They sat there in silence.
"Look around you. Do you honestly think you can win?" Erebus said.
Wyatt was the one who got up first. He staggered to his feet. He almost fell down but I grabbed him.
"Now listen here you disgusting piece of filth!" He said. "We will not give up until each and every last one of us is dead!"
"Perhaps you should be the first than." Erebus said. He launched himself at Wyatt.
Before Wyatt could react a figure jumped in front of him. It was Connor. Erebus stabbed him right through the stomach. He looked down at the blade and collapsed.
I rushed to Connor. He was bleeding bad before but now... He grabbed me by my armor and pulled me to him.
"Caleb I want you to lis-" He said before coughing up blood. "I want you to listen to me. You do what you have to, no matter the cost, to keep them safe!"
My eyes were watering. I never cried. But watching one of my brothers die in front of me changed that.
"I will Connor. I will don't worry." I said.
"Tell.. Tell Natalia and my family.. I love them will you?" He asked. "Tell them I died a hero."
"Connor your not leaving us! I won't let you!" I said. I began healing him but it was gonna take a bit.
"Caleb.. We both know you can't save me." He said smiling. "You can't save everyone."
"Maybe Ashley can!" I said. I hadn't noticed her fly behind me. She had her hand over her mouth and tears streaming down her face.
"We'll have to find out won't we?" He said smiling. He laughed. "Goodbye Caleb. You were a great brother. All of you were."
His eyes rolled into the back of his head. "Connor?" I said shaking him. "Connor!"
Ashley put her hand on my shoulder as I cried over the broken form of my friend. Matthew and the others had gotten up. They all had tears streaming down their faces. Then I felt a heart beat.
"Take him." I said to Ashley as I gave her Connors body. "Maybe you can save him." She nodded and transported her and Connor away.
I turned to Erebus. Black flames and a dark aura were circling around my body. He looked scared.
I healed the others with a snap of my fingers and gave them their weapons. They all had lightning or energy dancing around them. Their auras matched their elements and armor.
"I'm going to kill every single last one of you fucking pieces of shit!" I yelled as I charged the army head on. "For Connor!"
My army advanced forward with me. Matthew and the others ran behind me yelling. They took care of the other mobs while I went for Erebus.
The rat when he saw me coming tried to sprout his wings and fly. I was on him before he could take off. I threw my warhammer at him and the handle impaled his stomach. He screamed in pain. He was weighed down but he still managed to fly away.
He was slow though. It would take him a while to run. Than I noticed the snake that had swallowed Cayden. I yelled to the others.
"Guys!" They all looked up. "That snake right there swallowed Cayden!" I said.
Matthew screamed like a mad man before launching himself into the air in his avatar onto the snakes head. Him and Cayden had always been best friends. By the time everyone had attacked the snake well umm if it hadn't had swallowed Cayden I would've felt bad. That's how badly we beat this thing up.
Before it died its body exploded in half. Fire went everywhere and than, in the middle of it, was Cayden who was covered in snake guts.
Matthew and them got him caught up while I healed him and gave him his weapons. He was covered in a blinding fiery aura and actual fire.
We looked towards the mob army. We waved our hands and they all had the most painful deaths we could imagine.
I noticed a speck flying in the distance. Erebus. "Come on boys." I said as I grabbed my sword and shield. "Let's end this war."
