your head currently rested on your boyfriend camilo's lap as you both lay comfortably on his bed, while you peacefully read a book that camilo swore you read fourteen times already. not that he was counting.

"i can't help it if a great piece of literature like this exists, camilo!" was your reply the first time he tried to pry the book from your grasp when you went too long without acknowledging him. the memory make camilo chuckle as he recalled it.

the peaceful moment ended abruptly when a flash of lightening, followed by the sound of thunder, came from outside of camilo's window. the sudden flash of lightening caused you to temporarily lose your sight, as it was nearby. this startled you and caused you to lose your grip on the book you were peacefully reading moments prior.

your book lay abandoned on the floor as you shot up from your position and threw your arms around camilo, your gaze locked on the window with fear reflecting on your eyes.

your reaction caused camilo to turn to you with a confused expression evident on his features, an eyebrow raised. he has never seen you this terrified for as long as you have known each other, not even when he comforted you over a nightmare that left you so terrified you cried in his arms.

camilo was about to question your behaviour before he was interrupted by another roar of thunder. you wrapped your arms ever so slightly tighter around your boyfriend, tears now threatening to fall from your eyes. camilo noticed this almost instantly and moved his arm to gently rub your back in an attempt to calm you.

"ay, mi amor. you never told me that you're scared of thunderstorms." camilo whispered, afraid that he would startle you further if he spoke any louder.

with soft spoken words of reassurance camilo gently moved you so that you lay under the blanket with him.

now facing each other, camilo placed soft kisses on your temple as he gently ran his fingers through your hair.

"shh, mi amor, i'm right here." your boyfriend reassured in a soft tone.

this soft side that camilo showed came of a surprise to you, expecting your mischievous boyfriend to tease you about your fear.

you took a deep breath to compose yourself and smiled at your boyfriend to show your appreciation.

"thank you, mi vida." your lips met camilo's for a gentle kiss to show that you're now feeling better.

camilo decided from that moment that he should get his mami to create thunderstorms more frequently.
