So first off, welcome. Thanks for thinking of giving this a read. I can't guarantee it will be any good. I can't guarantee that there will be updates even remotely frequently. I can't even guarantee that it will ever be finished. But I've been reading fanfiction for years and over that time have come up with my own story. It has been greatly influenced by a large number of other fanfiction writers, too many to mention, and if it is similar to another story, I apologise.
I'm not a great writer. I take ages to write anything (I get distracted all the time, and not just from writing). I am a final year student currently, so I don't have much free time. But despite this, I still want to write my idea down. I have a basic plan for how this series of books will turn out, and have ideas for at least 3 ½ books, but I may end up adding in more if I feel the need.
This will be a crossover series between multiple different fandoms, however the first, main fandom that will be the backbone for the entire series is Percy Jackson. Due to my plan Percy will be OP, but that will be required by the end, as well as a lot of the characters being out of character compared to the canon. There will also be some things different to how Rick Riordan has them in canon, such as some lesser talked about beings' ancestry etc. I will try to only information that is talked about as being a possibility. I'll explain in a short author's note at the end of this chapter a bit more about my reasoning, after I've introduced the first case of this.
I plan to only put in author notes if they are required such as this one and the one at the end of this first chapter, so don't worry, there won't be any more of these long spiels if I can avoid it. So, without further ado, thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope you enjoy my story! If you find any continuity errors or have any suggestions, please feel free to tell me! I will always be happy to get someone else's viewpoint or correct any mistakes!

The howls echoed across the forest.
He didn't know how long they had been chasing him, the monsters that had torn apart the body of his mother right in front of them. At first he tried to stay by the sea, that's where his mother had been trying to get to, where they had stayed close to when they fled their obliterated home. Where she'd said they would be safe, be protected.
That protection hadn't saved his mother though, so the child had left the sea behind. Turning inland his tiny legs had pushed hard, tired as they were, and he ran towards the trees. Despite his relatively young age, they child was smart. He had seen the size of the beasts, seen their unwieldy truck sized bodies. He hoped that in amongst the tall, tightly packed trunks they would get trapped and he could make his way to safety, although where exactly that would be he had no idea. Unfortunately for the young one, he had only seen the advance party of those who were chasing him.
It was dark now, and yet he kept going. Every now and again, an arrow would embed itself into a trunk by his head, or into the ground between his feet, or he would be forced to duck underneath a spear or sword swung by creepy beings that almost looked like they had snakes instead of legs. He was once nearly crushed by a boulder thrown by a guy with one singular, giant eye in the centre of his face. That was one that he didn't want to meet again. The strength to launch such a huge chunk of masonry that distance at such speed is immense. It mightn't be too long before avoiding them was no longer an option though. Despite the exceptional stamina of the child, he would soon be able to go no further.
Finally though, there was hope. Shining weakly through the undergrowth was the warm flickering glow of a campfire. And there were people around it. Or at least, he thought there were people. There was something slightly off about it. He had seen another fire earlier on but had felt the desire to stay away to protect those around it from the abominations after him. This fire though, it was almost like it was calling to him, begging him to come closer, to where it could protect him. Finding what he suspected was the last bit of energy he had left, the youngster launched himself into a clearing, rolling to a stop just before the fire. The final thing he heard before the oblivion of unconsciousness took him was a small whimper from the lead monster.
