The cold rocky ground of sanctuary was not her favourite location for sure. Her black figure blended into the shadows with ease, but the meeting spot was higher in the mountains, and she had to keep moving. Starlight flew up to the highest point of Sanctuary. Cold winds attempted to freeze and blow her of course at the same time and it was definitely succeeding. There was an alleyways situated in between what seemed to be a mudwing's house and a small hut made out of wood.
Starlight slowly landed and stifled a gasp. The ground was really freezing! This better be worth it This was her first time attending a meeting with the Night stalkers. She shivered, not because she was cold, it was because of the threats and words used to convince her to join. She took a deep breath and entered the alleyway.
It was immediate darkness from her perspective, and the walls were to tight for her to stretch her wings, more or less fly. Starlight took a few more deep breaths and continued. She took a left, then a right, and what she thought was the entrance but turned out to be a dead end. They'd better not be tricking me, I don't want to get lost here. But after a few more turns, she saw a fire ahead, and in front of the fire, were several dragon figures laughing, scowling, or hissing.
Starlight gulped and tried to look for her friend, which was a major factor of the reason she agreed to join. It took a few minutes to spot but she recognized her friends thin structure and startling blue eyes.
"Uhh, hello?" She muttered, taking a step forward. All the commotion and activity immediately stopped. Some faces wore expressions of fear, hostility, and happiness. Well the only one happy was Patience. "I'm here for the meeting? I'm Starlight," she said nervously.
"Ah, Starlight," A nightwing said, her voice slippery smooth. "The one we invited? Wonderful," her tongue flicked in and out.
"How can we be sure?" A skywing interjected. The nightwing cast him a warning look and turned towards Starlight.
"Who invited you? I didn't get all the details," she said.
"P-Patience," Starlight stuttered, stealing a glance at Patience who looked thoroughly thrilled.
"Very well, call me Pitch, why don't you sit by your friend this meeting?" Pitch said gesturing towards Patience. Starlight nodded and made her way over to her friend.
"Patience, what does this organization do? I have no idea what I've joined, and this is a pretty shady place for a meeting isn't it?" Starlight whispered as soon as she sat down.
"The Night Stalkers," Patience said sternly, "are a secret organization planning to bring order to Pyrrhia."
"How? And what do you mean by order?"
"The Queens of Pyrrhia are doing nothing to protect Pyrrhia. They're sending they're tribemates across the ocean to deal with some problem that doesn't apply to us! The Night Stalkers will take care of that problem and keep Pyrrhia safe. They're good," Patience said, reading Starlight's expression. She decided to ignore the fact that Patience had avoided the 'how' part of her question.
"But they were helping Pantalan dragons. That's nice of them," Starlight argued.
"Yes, and they'll fail. Then what happens?" Patience said.
"How do you know they'll fail," She replied, keeping her voice low.
"How do you know they'll win?"
Starlight was silent.
"Enough," Pitch said, her voice echoed multiple times. "It's time to get started."
