Silently reading in the corner of library a young man was busy reviewing for his exam the day after tommorow. He is going to take the Trinity College scholarship examination.
Trinity College is the most famous school in the country and also the most expensive. With 25,491 acres of coverage, nevertheless the facilities are top notch that it is considered one of the top five campus in the world.
Arhus is not poor to begin with and don't really need the scholarship to enter the university. In fact his mother is Adreana the owner of ARCZ group the leading corporation in the country and one of the top ten in the world. His father died two years ago in a plane crash that made his mother become the temporary chairman of ARCZ corporation until Arhus is capable of managing their corporation. Guine, Arhus's sister is a year younger than him and is living with her mother.
Arhus's father is a good man, he never discriminate nor took advantage of his position to do dirty works. Arhus is very close to his father and his father taught him to be humble, sincere, honest and be man with dignity. "Life is never fair but you must, I can only guide you. I was once poor, I want you to experience the world rather than just see the world." His father's words that is embedded to his brain.
After his father's death Arhus insisted of living on his own to be able to understand the world. His mother didn't argue with him for she know that Arhus is a reasonable child and she also believe that this is also beneficial to her son.
Adreana bought a small bungalow house near Trinity College, the house have two rooms and one bathroom for Arhus to live temporarily. Complete with furnitures and housewares.
Arhus dragging his suitcase formally and said goodbye to his sister and mother. "Take this, it's up to you if you're gonna use it or not." Adreana handed a small bag to Arhus.
"Thank you Mom." he replied. He hugged Adreana and Guine.
"You take care, ok? Also make sure to call." Adreana nagged.
"I will." He replied.
It was almost noon when Arhus arrived at the house. He approached the gate and pressed the doorbell. A few moments later a beautiful woman came and open the gate.
"Welcome Arhus." The woman greeted Arhus with a smile.
She lead Arhus inside and showed him his room. Arhus put his luggage beside the bed and he scanned the room and saw a study table, he sat on the chair and put the bag Adreana gave him on the study table.
He opened the bag to see what's his mother gave him. Inside the bag was cash worth ten million pesos, he also found four different credit cards. He also found a small notebook with names and contact information of different people whom he doesn't know. After knowing what's inside he closed the bag and and put it inside the small cabinet under the study table.
After familiarizing the room he got out and saw that the woman is sitting in the sofa watching tv.
The woman heard when Arhus closed the door and looked at Arhus. She stand up and approached Arhus.
"Let me introduce myself. My name is Cecile and I will be your housemate."
"What do you mean housemate?" Arhus replied a bit surprised.
"Housemate, means I will be living in this house with you." Cecile joked.
"I know what a housemate means, but I clearly told mom that I want to live independently." Arhus a bit annoyed.
Arhus took out his cellphone and called his mother. After a moment the call connected.
"Mom, is there a woman in here?" He asked.
"Oh! Didn't I mentioned that she will be helping you out?" Adreana replied.
"But mom! I..." Before he could finished the call got disconnected.
"By the way Arhus, your mother instructed me to treat you like normal people. Also, I will be your temporary guardian. The chores are all my responsibility except cooking. Cecile explained.
"By the way your mother told me to act as your older sister. Any questions?" Cecile added.
Arhus agreed and head back to his room. He is a bit disappointed it is not what he expected. Again he dialed his mother's number.
"What is it? Do you need something else baby?" Adreana affectionately asked.
Arhus didn't reply for a while and said. "Oh nothing mom, bye." He drop the call and lie on the bed.
Arhus kept what to do for a while, then he get off the bed. He took ten thousand and prepared to go out and see the neighborhood.
