"Alright, so do we go home now?" Ryan asked nobody. The boys were siting around in a circle outside the bowling alley, tracing circles in the dirt and picking at the weeds poking through the cracks in the concrete.

"I guess so, but I don't want to say goodbye," Jack replied. He was playing with Michael's hair, who was laying across his lap.

"Me neither, let's just stay a little longer," Gavin said. He was sitting so close to Ray he was almost on top of him. Ray loved being this close with him, or any of the boys. It really worked, they were all one big match made in heaven.

The six of them sat there for another five minutes, not doing anything, just sitting. Eventually Jack gently pushed Michael off his lap and stood up. Michael groaned and got up as well, brushing off his jeans.

"Hey Ray, it's five thirty, I gotta go," Jack said to Ray. He nodded and let Jack pull him up and off the ground into a hug. "Maybe I could walk you home, where do you live?" Jack mumbled into his ear.

Ray pulled away. "I'm staying at my friends house, Joel, the one who set up the blind dates," He said.

"Oh sweet, like a sleepover?" Gavin asked, standing up as well, tripping on his shoelace as he did so. Ray gave him a half-smile and a shrug.

"You could call it a sleepover, but I've been there a while and I'm not planning on leaving," Ray said. Geoff stared at him quizzically and stood up with Ryan.

"What do you mean?" He asked and everyone looked at Ray. Ray bit his lip, not sure whether to tell them or not. They might worry about him, try and take care of him if they knew. But otherwise he would just be lying to them forever.

Ray couldn't bring himself to lie to these guys, who love him and care about him. "I ran away from home. My dad caught me sneaking out for the dates and," Ray took a breath, "he kind of hurts me."

Everyone was silent for a while, looking at the ground. "Ray..." Gavin started, putting an arm around his shoulders. The others boys followed and gathered around Ray, practically smothering him with hugs as the occasional kiss.

"I'm glad you told us, that takes balls, which you obviously have," Michael said, smiling gratefully.

"Well my grandma can wait, we have a plan to make boys," Jack said and clapped his hands together. Ray looked at him worriedly.

"No don't do anything! That will make it worse!" He cried frantically.

"Well what else are you going to do, you can't stay at Joel's forever," Ryan said gently.

"Well I guess I'll just have to live on the street," Ray said firmly. There was no way he could go back.

Everyone started protesting at once. Geoff started blurting out ways he could sneak into his home, Jack and Ryan were trying to talk to him calmly but in the noise they were failing miserably. Michael was just trying to bully him into it by calling him a retard.

Gavin however, stayed quiet. He chewed on the inside of his cheek while he thought. Then suddenly he yelled "Shut the bloody fuck up!"

Everyone stopped and stared at Gavin, who walked calmly up to Ray and stared him in the eye.

Ray was just about look away, when Gavin grabbed his face and pressed his lips to Ray's.

Ray was startled at the kiss, but when Gavin didn't pull away he shut his eyes and enjoyed the moment. He tasted like pizza.

Gavin gently ended the kiss and looked him in the eye again. "Now you know why I'm going to do this," He whispered then turned to face the red of the group.

"All right, listen up! Here's what's bloody going on, tomorrow we are meeting Ray's dad. Us and everyone else who cares about Ray," Gavin announced.

Ray put his head in his hands and started walking away. Geoff ran after him and pulled him by the collar of his shirt back into the group.

Michael pushed him to the ground and grinned. "Asshole, this is for you. If this little meeting doesn't turn out you can live at my place," he said.

"What the fuck will you even do? He won't listen, he'll call the cops the second you set foot on the yard outside!" Ray yelled. He was so frustrated nobody understood.

Jack stepped in and stared at everyone until there was silence. He was able to do that, like the teachers who can shut up a room of teenagers just by glancing in their direction.

"Ray, I know you think this is a bad idea, but you can't hide from this forever. We want to help you and I think that the best way for you to confront your dad is to come out," Jack said, looking Ray right in the eye.

Ray stared back, hard. The. He sighed, got up from the ground and dusted off his jeans. "Fine," He said, "but when I get beaten to a fucking pulp and kicked out of the house for good, remember it was your idea."

"You won't regret this buddy," Geoff said and clapped him on the back. Ray scowled but it turned into a slight smile when Geoff turned around to kiss him before he said goodbye to the others and walked away.

"Well my poor grandma's gonna kill me, but it was worth it to spend it with you guys," Jack laughed and kissed everyone before catching up with Geoff and walking away together.

"Gav and I are headed back to my place, if you know what I mean," Michael said to Ray and wiggled his eyebrows. Gavin playfully slapped his arm and assured Ray they were only going to play Mario Kart.

Once they had left Ryan turned to Ray. "Y'know I really want to kiss you right now," He said and before Ray could respond he did just that. The kiss was gentle, nothing more than two lips together, but Ray knew it was more than that.

Ryan walked away the second it was over, leaving Ray standing there, wondering why the fuck would such an amazing bunch of people choose a wimp like him.
