THERE WAS ALWAYS SOMETHING ABOUT SPIDER–MAN THAT SHE DIDN'T PARTICULARLY LIKE. The way he would swing about town as if he owned it, fighting petty crime that was meant for people like her father — well that's how it started anyway. Before long, the streets of New York were closed overtaken by larger than life villains - a giant lizard man and a guy who used electricity to get his way. Both times they tore Isabella's life apart.

The Lizard, well lizard who was once a man, took her father by attacking him when he joined forces with the Spider-Man. It hurt, crushing her heart little by little, but she still had her family to support her. A small part of her had always blamed the masked menace for this, her dad was up there fighting with him and it got him killed. However, she let it go, deciding that being vengeful was silly when her dad wouldn't want that.

All thoughts of keeping the peace vanished when she lost her older sister, her best friend. Gwen Stacy died because she was involved with Spider–Man, the one man who seemed to like tearing apart the Stacy family more than anything. Whilst she was well aware that Gwen wouldn't want retaliation either, Isabella couldn't help it.

That was when Doctor Otto Octavius struck, luring the brunette in with a false sense of security and promised power. It would be a power so great that she would finally be able to take out the swinging hero forever. In her downward spiral, consumed the brim with grief, she accepted his offer. Injected with several serums, Isabella finally felt she had power, the ability to do whatever she wanted.

It turned out, taking out Spider–Man was a much harder task than she believed it to be. Her mind clouded by the darkness of her magic, she was unable to truly see what she was doing and for that reason, Isabella lost sight of what she unknowingly used to value so greatly — her humanity.

Dying in the arms of the man she was trying so hard to destroy was almost insulting, and yet when the mask came off, she felt she could die in peace. And she did, clutching the arms of Peter Parker as he cried.

She died, she knows she did, and yet here she stands with air filling her lungs and a beating heart. Her eyes dart around the streets as she takes in the sights, Isabella is well aware of where she is — New York. So what in the world has happened since she last saw Peter?

The billboards seem to be an indicator that something odd is happening, a news reporter speaking about Spider–Man being unmasked and yet it isn't the Spider–Man she remembers. He looks younger but his name is still Peter Parker, not the Peter she knows but a Peter nonetheless.

"Peter," Isabella breathes. "Peter Parker,"

The brunette keeps her gaze on the screens, watching for a long period of time as video rolls and exposes this Peter as a killer. He certainly doesn't have the face of a killer, innocence imbedded in his eyes, and if he's anything like the Peter she knows, he wouldn't dream of harming anybody. Not on purpose anyway, sometimes it happens without you even noticing.

Isabella thinks as hard as she possibly can, standing there staring for a moment. This Peter looks younger, probably about sixteen or seventeen, so there is no doubt he is still in high school. The only problem is, who knows what school he goes to here.

The Peter she knows went to Midtown, is there a Midtown here?

Grabbing the arm of the nearest person gently, Isabella looks at them. The man looks a little startled but relaxes slightly. "Can you tell me where Midtown is?"

The man hands out the directions and she gives him a thankful smile, walking away and leaving the images of Peter Parker behind her.
