Note:
1️⃣ Wei Wuxian
Wei Wuxian was grinning.
He knew he could absolutely rely on his husband to chase everyone away, and was now sitting by an open window, by his lonesome, cradling his brother's one-month-old baby in his arms.
Over there, in the remote part of the Hall, Hanguang-Jun was answering questions tersely, or maybe mocking people, or perhaps telling half-truths, or maybe all of those at the same time? - one could never tell with him, his face expressed absolutely nothing.
But Wei Ying was jealous, oh yes he was, and he didn't like to share; he wanted to spend as much time with this perfect creature as was possible, and he was as good as his dad now – a Godfather was certainly close enough! He remembered quite well how much pain and suffering both his Shīdì and his brother-in-law had to endure to get to this day. He would let no one come any closer.
Wei Ying was smiling down at the little sleeping face, still quite amazed that his ill-tempered, sulking brother could create something so beautiful and calm. Still, the Lan blood had a say in it too – both Zewu-Jun and Hanguang-Jun were notoriously handsome. He thought to himself that he must not forget to remind his brother precisely where his son's beauty came from.
He could, even now, taste the angry fit that was sure to follow!
His eyes roamed over the Guest Hall. Always amused to observe the oftentimes ridiculous behavior of various Clan members, he quite purposefully searched for his boys.
They had spent the morning in their Shūshu's arms, too curious to meet their new cousin, fascinated by the small creature, asking innocent questions that had made him laugh as Jiang Cheng had been blushing severely, unable to answer. Now they had besieged his Shìjiè, most probably begging for sweets.
He smiled; today was a day to celebrate and all the sweets in the world were alright! Even Lan Zhan wasn't paying attention to food – and that was a rare exception indeed.
And yes, there they were.
The lovebirds.
Why did this Naming ceremony rather feel like a wedding? What were they thinking? Both Zewu-Jun and A-Cheng were wearing their heavy blood-red official attire, sitting at the top of the Hall among those ridiculous drapes and cushions which were not removed, despite the fact that Sandu Shengshou was not pregnant any more, and which almost gave Lan Qiren a heart attack to see again.
Zewu-Jun's decision to allow his uncle access to his son for this one single day of blessings surprised him, and he thought that Lan Xichen must be feeling really confident and content in his life to show such a mercy. His kind heart never ceased to amaze him. He, however, was not sure he approved. Still, it was amusing to watch the old man hesitate to approach the baby in his arms, or even his own nephew.
