I walked out of the control room as causally as I could. I turned the corner and peaked my head over. Good, Comet wasn't there, just a bunch of people crowded together. I saw Dipper my brother, and I sat next to him. He was playing with his stuffed vatter that I made for him when he was born. I barly even remember making it for him, but I could tell It was my work. Poorly done. I gave it button eyes, a red puff ball as it's nose and a sewed a huge tail on the back.
Vatters are usually the size of your hand, and the live in the water. They look like hamsters, only they have big fat tails that help them swim. I always thought they were cute.
"Aurora. What are doing?" My mom asked.
I didn't notice that she was sitting right across from Dipper.
"Just...sitting." I said awkwardly patting my sit.
"Shouldn't you be planning our route?" She asked.
I wanted to say I already did, but if I said that a million of unwanted questions would follow.
"Right." I said, getting up.
I walked over to the control room. I swung my head right. No Comet, so I looked left. The coast was clear. I opened the door, and Comet was standing right there looking at me. It was if he was just waiting there, looking at the door waiting for someone to open it so they would be freaked out.
"What are you doing here?" We both said simultaneously.
"Why were you trying to get in the control room?" Comet asked me.
"Well, why were you IN the control room?"
"Looking for you." Comet answered. "I suspected you would try and sneak in. Why did you come?"
"I was looking for you." I said.
"What makes you think I would be in here?" Comet asked.
"Because I suspected that you would suspect that I was in the control room."
"What makes you suspect that I suspected that you would be in the control room?"
"Because I suspected that you wouldn't trust me and that I would suspect that I would be suspected that you would be in the control room."
"What?" Comet asked.
"NEVER MIND!" I said. "We found each other, and that's what we wanted, right?" I said.
"Well, you found me, so...what did you want?" He asked.
"You go first." I said.
"Well, Aurora." Comet started. "I just wanted to say that." He thought for a moment. "I like you, as...a person. You're nice little girl, honey, and you mean well. Just...you aren't a Queen."
Ugh. He called me honey, little, and girl. I'm the Queen. I need to be treated like one.
"Well, everyone gets a vote after one year. You can kicked me out then if you wish." I said.
"But, as the supervisor, I can make the call if the ruler is arrogant, not prepared, or if the situation is too big for them to handle, and can take over."
I started to get mad. "Look Comet. This is my thrown! This is my job! This is my term and these are my people! We need to get these people to a safe place, and you and your pride is just getting in the way!"
"Excuse me?" He asked offended.
"When we were on Bavel all you could think of was your empire! You didn't think of the people's safety! And I know you love that place more than anyone else, and we will be back I swear! I knew you were the strongest, boldest, and will be the most remembered ruler of Bavel, but right now this is my term and you need to let me take control! You saw what you could do, let me see what I can do!"
Comet started down and me and I up at him.
"Of course, your majesty." He said "The thrown is yours."
I smiled and watched away. Finally, the respect I deserve, I thought. I thought about Earth, and I felt that Comet had the right to know, but I decided to tell him in the morning.
