Gears of War: Inside Hell

Tip of the Spear: Welcome to Raptor.

Most of the COG had gathered at a hospital in Jacinto. The last of the major city in Sera. Kurt was talking to a superior officer about how the lightmass didn't work.

"Cut Delta some slack, sir. The bomb worked, there were just more tunnels than we know of." Kurt said as he looked around and saw that more Gears were being sent in to medical  attention.

"You need to get your squad now, Kurt. Those were guarding Pomeroy Depot." The officer said as Kurt looked down the road.

"That's just over there. We should start evac now." Kurt said as the officer nodded at one of Kurt's squad members.

Kurt Turned around to see a young female in the COG armour holding a Mark 2 Lancer. She had long black hair tied up in a pony tail and her eyes were as blue as the calm sky.

"April. Nice to see you again." Kurt said with a smile on his face.

April nodded with a soft smirk as she tossed him his Longshot sniper rifle. Kurt thanked her for bringing his rifle. He put it on his back magnets on his armour then turned to the officer.

"Get in the hospital, Grubs will most likely attack us here." The officer shouted as he was walking away.

Soon a Raven Helicopter landed on a large part of the road. Five to six COG Gears got off and ran to their places except another female. He had brown short cut hair and brown eyes She walked up to Kurt and April holding a bag and a Mark 2 Lancer. She dropped her bag and placed down her Lancer and stood infront of Kurt saluting and shouted with determination. 

"Private Sarah, Sir! Reporting for duty, Si-" Sarah was cut off by Kurt as he said with little patience.

"Cut the 'sir' crap. We're not that friendly on the frontlines." 

"Great... Newbies again..." April whispered before pulling Kurt aside. She then whispered up to him "Look, we both know it's gonna end bad if we take those recruits with us." She looked into his eyes, then back at Sarah. "I'm not up for going trough that again."

"That won't happen again, April." Kurt whispered with a comforting smile as he put his left hand on her shoulder. He then picked up his Personal Mark 1 Lancer which he modded himself and put it on his back next to his sniper rifle. "Alright, your first objective is to stay here and guard this point." He said to Sarah as she turned around looking confused.

"But there isn't anything to guard..." She said as she sounded lost.

"Sounds like a good first assignment to me. Stay here until we return." He said as he nodded to April noticing the concern on her face.

Kurt told April to relax and explained how he was clumsy when he first joined the COG. How he would drop his rifle and get it jammed on every reload. Her face felt more at ease but he knew she still didn't want the 'newbie' here especially when a battle is about to take place.

A couple minutes later. Kurt and April met their second Recruit. He was wearing the full COG Armour unlike Kurt, April and Sarah. He held another helmet with a gunshot through it from a Longshot round.

"I take it you're Clayton." Kurt said as he recognized Anthony's helmet. He held out a chain of COG Tags to Clayton. "Here, these belong to him too." Kurt said as Clayton took the tags and put them round his neck.

"Let's kill these bastards." Clayton said calmly under his helmet.

Kurt put his index and middle finger to his ear piece so Sarah can hear the conversation. "Alright, we're known as Raptor Squad, our current mission is to protect this hospital from any Grub forces. They won't bring any heavies as they'd just slow the Drones down. So expect a lot of them." 

After he let Sarah know what was happening, Kurt, along with April and Clayton Carmine, moved further into the hospital to Defend it.
