All You Ever Wanted - A Hunter Hayes Love Story

      Life wasn't always easy for me, in fact, it never was. Life, it always threw me curve balls with everything it seemed like. Whether it was those bobble head barbie dolls that everyone adored at my high school giving me bitch talks at my locker, or my life at home..where i would come home each day to either find my father drunk as hell or my parents at each other, or even sometimes both. Whatever it was, I could never see how to deal with these situations life gave me, until i met Hunter. I can recall every living moment with him. When I was with him, we were infinite. I felt like I was in a dream..or a Nicholas Sparks novel as he would put it.

      We met when I had just turned 17, one week after my birthday actually. My two best friends, Katie and Samantha took me out to a country club that had just opened down the street from the high school we attended. I can remember that day so clearly...it was the day my whole life was turned upside right.

*flashback*

Katie, Samantha and I were sitting at a small booth in the corner of the club sipping on sodas seeing who can have it come out their nose first. Typical us..always doing the dumbest things in public. Once we settled down a bit, the manager of the club, Stan, announced he had a special guest performing at the club that night.

"I wonder who it could be?" I asked taking a bite of my pastrami sandwhich that had just came.

"I dont know Mel, i just hope its a he." Samantha chuckled.

"If its a he, he better be cute." Katie said slirping her pepsi and stealing the other half of my sandwhich. 

We all laughed in agreement until the lights shut off.

"What the?" I mumbled to myself trying to figure out what was going on. All of a sudden a spotlight hit the club's stage and out came the musician for tonight's performance.

"Woah." Katie and Samantha said at the same moment. I ignored their comment. I couldn't keep my eyes of this guy.

"Hey everyone." He began with a nervous tone to his voice. "My name is Hunter Hayes and tonight i'll be playing a song for ya'll that I wrote recently. The songs called Wanted..i uhm..i hope you guys like it." He said into the mic-a grin forming on his face. Hunter sat down at the piano that was sitting in the middle of the stage waitng to be played. His fingers traced the piano keys. He looked so at home when the notes played out..then he sang...then I was hooked.

Everyone at the club that night was captivated by Hunter. He was the most gorgeous boy I have ever seen in my whole life. He was charming, he was flawless when he expressed himself on stage, he was captivating. He was perfect. I wanted him.

"Mel? Helllooo." Katie said chucking a sugar packet at me.

"Yes yes yeah what im hear whats going on hows everyone doing." I said trying to hide the fact I was staring.

"Wasnt he amazing?! Didnt you like it?" she asked me.

I shot a smile and nodded my head. I heard Katie and Samantha conversing about Hunter and how amazing he was, which I didnt mind..i agreed 100%.

"Hey guys im going to run to the restroom be right..whatever." i laughed. They couldnt hear me. They were too busy checking out the boys to the booth next to us.

I got up and walked to the long mirror that was on the restroom's wall.

"Jesus why didnt anyone tell me I looked this bad?" i mumbled as i did a few touch ups. I walked out the restroom scrolling through instagram on my phone when i suddenly felt a figure bump into me, leading my butt to the floor.

"Oh my gosh I am so sorry! Are you alright there?" a familiar voice said.

I knew that voice.

Why did I know that voice.

Shit.

It was Hunter's.

He grabbed me by the forearm to help me up to my feet again. I looked up to thank him but I couldnt speak. His eyes were the deepest shade of blue. I felt like I was lost at sea.

"You alright sweetheart? I didnt bump into ya that hard now did I?" he said with a worried chuckle. I still couldnt speak. I was face to face with an angel looking being. "Im Hunter. Hunter Hayes." He continued with a reassuring smile and hand gesture.

I wanted to puke. Was this some kind of sick joke.

"TALK YOU DUMBSHIT TALK.'' i yelled at myself. My throat and tounge were dry, my voice-numb. The words were jumbled up in my brain. What was wrong with me? I have never been in this sort of  situation in my life. I stood there in silence, weak at my knees, head over heels.

"Well Im just gonna go I guess, i hope youre alright." he said with an awkward face. "here you dropped this on your way down...it was nice to meet you." He began to walk away after he handed me my phone. I have to say something! I cant let him walk away!

"I-Im Melissa." i spat out. I saw him smile out of the corner of my eye as he turned around and walked back to me.

Lord Jesus.

"So she speaks." he said with a small chuckle. He stood there with his hands in his pockets waiting for my response to this conversation.

"Yeah hi im sorry about before i-" he cut me off before I can say anything more.

"Hey dont worry about it, lets start all over again." He smiled holding out his hand. "Im Hunter."

I returned the hand gesture back to him smiling like a bloody idiot. "Im Melissa."

"It's very nice to meet you..Melissa." he said not letting that beautiful smile escape from his face.

"Its a pleasure to meet you as well Hunter." I replied.

The rest of the night we sat at a booth talking about everything and anything. I didnt want to leave from the booth, nither did he I assumed. I occasionally looked over to Katie and Samantha who were eagerly waiting for me to come back..but that was before midnight. They were passed out on the table after that.

Stan finally kicked Hunter, the two sleeping beauty's and I out of the club at one 1:30 am.

"So I guess this is goodbye." I said with a hint of depression to my voice. Hunter slid his brown leather jacket on and he smiled to the ground.

"Ive realized Melissa, that every goodbye just means another hello sometime in the future." he took my phone from my hands and added his contact to my list. "I hope we say hello again sometime soon."

We said our farewells and i hopped into the car and drove everyone home.

This is the beginning of something beautiful.

But this is also a past life i try to forget with every passing day.
