*buzz, buzz, buzz* *buzz, buzz, buzz*
I opened my eyes to a bright string of sunlight, shining in my eyes. As I squint and squeeze my eyes shut, I can't help but get irritated at my alarm.
"Ugh!" I yell as I throw the blankets off of me and grab my phone.
8:31am.
"My God! I can't wait for summer!" I grunt to myself as I sit up on the edge of my bed.
As I stand up, I can feel my bones crack and pop.
"Why is my brain 21 years old but my body feels 75?" I can't help but thinking, feeling the back pain as I stretch for the first time in the 6 hours I managed to get of sleep.
After sliding into my slippers, I head into the bathroom to.. well.. use it.
After I've finished my business, and wash my hands, I start to gaze at my reflection. I never really liked it much as I grew up, but once I got to college, my face started to grow on me. What once were gross and disgusting wrinkles by my eyes, are now "laughing stretch marks" to me. What once were dark spots on my cheeks, are now sweet and warm sun kisses.
One thing I always loved about my face though, are my eyes. They're a pale, baby blue, with highlights of grey here and there. I especially loved how they would glow in the sunlight, and I was always extremely thankful to my mom for she's the reason I even have them.
Halfway through brushing my teeth and getting lost in thought about what I'm doing for the day, I heard knocking on the bathroom door.
"Claire bear?" I heard a familiar voice say. I always hated that nickname, no matter how "ushy gushy cute" it was.
"Yeah, dad?" I yell through a mouth full of toothpaste.
"Someone's here to see you!" my dad said, I could tell he was leaning against the door now.
"Okay, one sec! I need to get dressed!" I say as I opened the door.
"Hey bestie!"
I saw my absolutely gorgeous best friend, Gillian standing in front of me. She's always had the most beautiful long and fiery red hair.
"Oh my god! Hi!" I practically screamed! I hadn't seen her in months! "What are you doing here?!" I immediately question her, embracing her warm, petite body in my arms.
"What do you mean?! Spring break is tomorrow baby!" Gillian starts jumping up and down while we were still embraced.
"Oh my god you're right!" I can't believe I completely forgot about spring break!
"Yes ma'am! And guess what? We're going to Scotland tomorrow!" Gillian screeched, pulling two flight tickets from her back pockets.
"Are you kidding me? You're joking right? Am I on Punk'd? Where's Ashton?" I start half-jokingly looking around, waiting for Ashton Kutcher to come around the corner with his camera crew.
Gillian immediately started laughing hysterically.
"No I'm not kidding you! We're leaving early in the morning tonight, probably 3am, for the airport! Our flight boards at 5:55am!" Gillian danced around, waving the tickets in the air as she twirled around in her long, floral skirt.
"Dad? Did you know about this?" I turned to him, with the most comedic shocked look on my face in the world.
"Mmmaybe..." my dad looked up and around, turning his head to the left, and then looked at me from the corner of his eyes.
