Lav groggily opened her eyes, trying to stir herself awake, and heard two individuals conversing. She felt the itchy material of a bag over her head before her gaze met the dark brown. She tugged slightly, only for the chains around her wrist to clink together, securing her to the floor.
Tied up again. Great.
"I knew it was a mistake trusting you."
"You've been a real picnic yourself."
Lav tried to shut out her fellow inmates' arguing, using her heightened hearing to listen for any sounds of other life forms. She cursed, not hearing anything. She was becoming weaker by not taking shimmer. Her first thought as she started to tug on the chains was, "I need to get back to Jinx."
Jinx was all abandoned without her, and that thought alone scared Lav, not only for the blue-haired girl but for everyone else around her. Jinx didn't know how to face her monsters alone.
"Would you two please shut the fuck up for like two seconds?" She exclaimed, pulling more on her restraints.
"No point in escaping, shortcake. Already tried, chains locked tight. "
"I don't need advice from a girl who runs head-first into everything." Lav sneered, rolling her eyes.
"Ouch, you used to like that about me," Vi responded, her tone light but deep down lavender's words cut her deep.
"Great, so you two know each other too!" Caitlyn yelled out, also pulling on her restraints. "Vi, when were you going to tell me your lunatic sister works for Silco?"
"Eh, 'work' isn't the word I'd use." Lavender chipped in, however they ignored her.
"Just as soon as you come clean about what the hell you're really doing down here."
"I told you the truth."
"Bullshit. What was that glowing stone? "
Caitlyn just sighed in response, defeated.
Lav chuckled to herself, finding this entire conversation futile and annoying. These two had no idea what they were doing.
"Oh, what's so funny over there, shortcake?"
"You two? Just shut the fuckup and make out already. Sound like an old married couple. "Grinning to herself, slumping against the pole she was tied to, giving up her attempts to escape.
The silence that filled the air after her statement made Lav snort out loud, her voice echoing around the room, causing the tension between the three of them to thicken.
"When were you guys going to tell me you two got acquainted?" Vi bit back, and Lav could hear the smirk in her voice. She had to admit that it made her a little giddy.
"I-I didn't know who she was." Caitlyn stuttered on her words making Lav's grin grow.
"Spit it out, love."
"I'm just saying I didn't know who you were or that you worked for Silco." She let out a sigh. "Vi, you should never have left me at that brothel." She made a muttered remark.
"I don't work for Silco, not anymore. And even if I did, would that have changed our conversation that night? " Lav inquired, feeling offended. She held her breath, the silence on Caitlyn's end making her feel self-conscious, but to her surprise, she answered.
Quietly and very timidly, Caitlyn whispered "No."
Lavender's heart leaped a little.
"But I would've asked insider questions of course. Not about the Piltover gardens."
