There was no way out. I looked every where. As I'm walking around the house I see a window that wasn't all the way closed. "Aha!" I run towards it and push it open, which wasn't as hard as I expected it to be. I jump out and start running. I feel really guilty about leaving all the kids in the orphanage there all alone. Especially with freaked out, weird looking Ms. Chars, and that man... Something about him made me remember my past.
......................................
I go around the city, trying to pretend the adults around me are my parents.
I see a restaurant up ahead and decide to stop for some food. Once I'm inside the building I decide to get a chicken sandwich and leave.
As I'm walking outside, I see an empty bench without any people which is unusual. I sit on the open bench and start to enjoy my chicken sandwich. A boy, with blond hair and blue eyes walks up to me. "Do you mind if I sit here?", he asked. Before I new it I had dozed out. He looked about my age, fifteen. Tall and handsome. "Excuse me?" He asks politely. I snap out, and get back to real life."Oh. Yeah, sure." I say. We sit uncomfortably by each other for a few minutes. I decide to break the silence by saying, "So, what brings you to New York?" He looks over to make sure that she's talking to him. " Oh. Nothing really, I've lived here all my life. What about you?" I don't want him to think I'm a weirdo so I tell him that it's a long story. We were silent for a few more minutes and then he said, " My name is Ryan by the way." I respond saying,"Nice to meet you. My name is Eve." I look into his blue eyes, and I swear I almost kissed him.
After talking more, we agree to meet each other next week, and get to know each other some more. As Ryan is going home, one way there are people running the opposite way. At first we both ignore it but then... we look at each other horrified. "Ms. Chars." I say starting to walk away hoping,Ryan, wouldn't notice me. As Ryan turns around to say goodbye one more time he sees me running. "Eve? Whoa!" His voice fades away.

As people are running around the streets, evacuating into buildings, I try to blend in as much as possible, but thats not easy when you're wearing a ragged dress with dirt all over it and looks like it hasn't been washed in months. I turn around trying to spot out Ms. Chars. Her face had changed into something horrifying. I don't even know how I noticed it was her. She ran around lifting up cars and pulling road signs off the sidewalks. That's when she saw me. I started to run, but tripped on a tree root that appeared out of nowhere. When I try to get up, my ankle bursts with pain. I try hopping, but I don't get to far. I collapse onto the floor and everything around me goes black.
........................................
"AHHH!", I scream terrified. I didn't remember much before I blacked out, but I new for sure that I was running away from something, and that something was standing right in front of me looking me straight in the eye. "AHH!", I scream again. A hideous, green, slimy, giant face drenched in drool around its mouth. It had purple eyes that never blinked. It's nose had two huge nostrils, with piercings on both sides. I try moving my arms, but somehow they wouldn't even budge! When I look at them, I see that there are chains pulling them up, and same with my feet. I look around me only to see walls of dirt. "What?", I ask. From behind the ugly beast a man appears. It was the same man that appeared at the orphanage earlier in the day. I couldn't pick it up in my head but I knew that man from somewhere... Whatever now it wasn't the time to think. "TAKE ME OFF OF THIS YOU JERK!",I say. The monster bares its teeth and growls. "GOSH, when was the last time you brushed your teeth?", I say insulting the beast. He growls one more and tries to smell his own breath. I roll my eyes. "Doofus.", I murmur.
