Can't a bloke spend a little time with the lady of his affections without getting interrupted?
The answer is obviously no.
Grumbling, Triton made his way to the residence of his brother-in-law on Mount Olympus.
The Prince of Atlantis was previously having a nice time flirting with Ariel and making her blush with his compliments when his father had unexpectedly broken into his room.
After Ariel had managed to stutter out an apology to the King of the Seas and swum away in haste, Poseidon chewed out his son for not listening to his order about staying away from the mermaid.
Anyways, Triton found himself kicked out of the underwater palace and sent to the surface world by his all powerful pops to give an official invitation to his sister, her husband and their brood to visit Atlantis sometime soon. Apparently his mother was growing anxious to see her grandchildren and couldn't bear to wait any longer.
"Why me?! Ask someone else!!! I am the Prince of Atlantis; you can't send me on such frivolous errands!!"
"You are the Messenger God of the Seas!!! Go and do your job!! I don't pay you for free!!"
Triton grumbled again on remembering that conversation with his father.
"Be the Messenger God, they said.", he muttered. "It will be fun, they said. Not much work, more followers, more respect, more pay. What a joke."
Pouting to himself, Triton marched on while ignoring the odd stares being thrown his way by the other residents of Olympus for his grumpy expression. "I honestly need a break. When is my holiday? And I am a Prince, I don't particularly need to work to earn a living. This is unfair."
Finally reaching his destination, Triton knocked three times on the door before pushing it open and entering the residence, afraid of staying out too long and being blinded by its golden shine.
Triton looked around before sighing in relief when he realised that the interior of the residence wasn't really as blinding as its exterior, but rather had a homey feel to it.
However, all that had happened an hour or so ago, and he was still stuck staring at the incredulous scene in front of him in the dining room, not knowing whether to laugh out in disbelief or yell for the same reason.
Not minding her elder brother's internal battle, Atlanta continued to do her monthly routine with her best friend.
"Seems like he grew about an inch. Very nice.", Atlanta declared with a smile, marking the place on the growth chart which was hanging from the wall with a grey pen and wrote the date beside it before making a cute doodle to make it seem legit.
"Yeah, they are growing up fast, not gonna lie.", Apollo agreed, taking up Jimmy the koala in his arms again after holding him up straight one last time to recheck the height mark made on the chart.
The Goddess of Innocence whined in response. "Don't remind me!! I want them to remain as little babies forever. Look at them and tell me that you can imagine them all grown up."
At this, she sent a pout towards her eldest son before calling him forward.
"Wow, Ares is really tall!!", Cygnus called out excitedly.
Apollo scoffed. "I am taller."
"Phoebus!!", Atlanta scolded her husband.
"What Lana? It's true!!", Apollo defended himself.
