"Bonnie?" I called into my house. There was no reply. Caroline called her name too, but nothing happened.

I walked slowly into the house and freaked out when I saw blood all over the floor. I called Bonnie's name, letting my hearing reach out to every corner of the house. Hearing multiple heartbeats and people breathing, I used my vampire speed and ran to the window seat in the lounge where we kept weapons.

Grabbing a stake, I held it in front of me as I heard dripping coming from the kitchen. Walking into the room, I saw a box on the counter that wasn't there before.

"Surprise!" Multiple people shouted, jumping out of their hiding places. I jumped and dropped the stake. It clattered to the ground as happy faces grinned at me. Bonnie, Liz Fobes, Liv, Valerie, Mary-Louise and Nora - to my surprise - , and Caroline standing behind me.

"You scared me." I bent to pick up the stake, placing it on the bench. "Whose blood is that?"

"No one." Valerie chuckled. "I got inside your head and made you think you saw blood. I figured it would be easier than putting real blood on the floor." I shook my head in exasperation.

"Happy pre wedding party Elena." Bonnie grinned at me, taking the lid off the box. I approached the counter and looked inside the box. There was an assortment of things inside, all wrapped in pink paper.

"Why don't we go into the lounge." Liv suggested.

I took the box and followed everyone as they crowded into the lounge, sitting wherever there was space. Bonnie patted the free space on the couch next to her and I sat next to her. Everyone watched me as I reached into the box and pulled out a large, flat object. Gently unwrapping it, I gasped as I uncovered an A3 painting of me and Damon, dancing at the Miss Mystic Falls pageant. It was so full of detail that it could be a picture, and the tag said 'To Elena, from Mary-Lou and Nora'

"Wow." I breathed. "This is amazing. Thank you so much." I glanced up at Mary-Louise and Nora, who were sitting together in an armchair. They smiled at me.

Next I opened the one that was apparently from Liz. It was small, and I couldn't even guess what it was when I felt it. Opening the pink paper, I let out a small gasp as I saw what was inside.

"Liz." I whispered, reaching in and picking up the bracelet. It was thin, a metal band studded with sapphires. Mom had worn it at her wedding, and given it to Liz when she got married. I had forgotten about it.

"Something blue." Liz said. "I know she'd be proud of you Elena."

I looked up at Liz with tears in my eyes. My voice wouldn't work, but she knew what I meant. Liz nodded, a bright smile on her face. She knew what wearing that bracelet would mean to me.

Aside from that, Bonnie and Caroline had made me a very detailed photobook of my life, from the day I was born to photos taken just the other day. There was a note stuck to the back cover on a post-it, which read; This is just the first one capturing a line of memories that we know will continue for hundreds of years. Love Bonnie and Caroline.

On the last page, there were two photos. One was taken the day I turned five. I was standing in between five year old Bonnie and Caroline. We were all sticking out our tongues, grinning, arms around each other. The one below it was taken only a few months ago. The three of us, standing together, sticking out our tongues. I laughed.

"I love you guys." I looked up. "This is so amazing."

But it was when I opened the one from Valerie that I started properly crying. It was a very old book, only a few pages long. It was obviously hundreds of years old, and Valerie told me that she had never given it to anyone before, but that she knew that I deserved it.

"It's got a spell inside." She told me. "That allowed vampires to have children. Biological children."

That did it. I pressed a hand to my mouth as tears slipped from my eyes. Valerie laughed as I leaned over and hugged her tightly, whispering thank yous in her ear. After a moment, I forced myself to cut it out, but the occasional tear slid down my cheek.

"I'm sure mine doesn't compare." Liv said as I lifted the last pink wrapped present from the box. "But I hope you like it anyway."

It was a patchwork quilt. One side was just a plain soft sheet, while the other was squares and squares of different fabrics. I ran my fingers over the squares before I recognised what they were. I would know them anywhere.

"Damon's old shirts." I whispered. Liz nodded, smiling. "I wondered why he suddenly got a whole bunch of new ones." I laughed. Everyone laughed with me. I wrapped the quilt around my shoulders. It even smelled faintly like him. "Thank you Liv. I love it."

After about another hour of just having a good time, talking and laughing, Valerie, Nora, Mary-Louise, and Liv all had to go. They were setting up the wedding venue. Liz, Caroline, and Bonnie stayed.
