We all nodded. Bonnie went outside to Caroline's car, and Liz and I went upstairs. We went into my room. I grabbed the white silky robe that Caroline had given me yesterday and told me to wear while I was getting ready, and went into the bathroom.

Alone in the hot stream of water, my nerves got worse. I tried to fight it off as I thoroughly washed my hair, but by the time I got out, my fingers were visibly shaking. I dried off slowly and then pulled the robe over me. It slipped over my skin smoothly as I tucked it tightly around me.

Caroline, Bonnie, and Liz were waiting for me in my room. They could all see just how terrified I was at this point, and Caroline jumped forward to give me a hug. Bonnie wrapped her arms around me too, and I sighed.

"Sorry guys." I said. "I don't know why I'm so nervous."

"It's normal." Liz said as Caroline led me to sit on the stool in front of my mirror, which they had moved to put on my desk. "You should have seen how terrified your Mom was on her wedding day. She worked herself up so much that she got sick." I smiled to myself. That sounded like Mom.

"Just sit there and relax." Caroline told me. "Think about Damon or something."

I nodded. Caroline started to gently blow dry my hair, and I let the warmth of the hair dryer calm me down. Once my hair was dry and had settled into its natural waves, Bonnie took over. She curled it ever so slightly so that it was a bit curlier than it usually was. Then she pulled half of it up into an elaborate half ponytail, taking extra care to make it look perfect. She pulled a single strand of hair out of the ponytail on one side of my face and let it hang down next to my cheek.

"Where are the slides?" Bonnie asked over her shoulder. Liz passed her a little box, and when Bonnie opened it, I saw three white slides inside, white pearls on top. Bonnie slid them into my hair, fiddling with them for a moment before deciding it was right.

"Holding up okay?" Liz rested a hand on my shoulder. I looked at her in the mirror and gave an unconvincing nod. "You'll forget why you're scared the moment you look at him, don't worry." Liz smiled.

Caroline came up behind me with a set of white underwear in her hands. I rolled my eyes. Of course she planned absolutely EVERYTHING. I stood, careful not to mess up my hair in any way, and took them from her.

After I had them on, Caroline sat me back down for makeup. She didn't do much, just some faint glitter above my eyes and on my lips. Then she gently slipped some earrings into my ears. They were white - of course - and were in the shape of a mismatched flower, with a teardrop shaped pearl hanging off the bottom. They were made from a mix of pearls and diamonds.

Getting ready to this point had taken way longer than I had thought, and we only had half an hour before we had to leave. Caroline and Bonnie got my dress and held it up for me to see as I stood and turned around. We had picked it out together.

It was similar to the dress I had worn at the Miss Mystic Falls pageant, but white, and it had a few different things about it. But the general shape and look of the skirt was almost the same. My friends helped me into the dress and then turned me to look into the mirror.

"Almost done." Caroline whispered as Liz held up a veil and shoes.

Bonnie took the veil and set it gently on the back of my hair. It was thin and not in the way, and it flowed just past my shoulders, gently brushing against my shoulder blades. I put the shoes on; plain white heels with a heel that was just under an inch high.

Finally done, Caroline and Bonnie took my hands as we looked in the mirror. I looked like...a bride. I couldn't find another way to describe myself. A tear welled in my eyes but I blinked a few times. I couldn't cry yet.

"Let me take a picture." Liz said, holding up her camera. She took a few pictures of the three of us, and then a few of just me.

"I can't believe you're getting married." Caroline sniffed.

"Come on Care." Bonnie nudged her. "Let's get changed."

They disappeared to change into their dresses, leaving me with Liz. I continued to stare at myself in the mirror. There were tiny pops of colour; the orange amulet, the blue bracelet that was Mom's.

"There's one more thing." Liz said quietly.

I turned to look at her. She was holding a small flat white box, just bigger than both of her hands. Liz held it out to me, and I lifted the lid. I let out a tiny gasp when I saw what was inside.

It was a bridal headpiece. It was thin gold strips, with sparkling leaves coming off it. It was delicate, beautiful. Liz smiled as she looked down into the box with me. There was also a piece of white cardboard paper tucked in, and I carefully took it out without bumping the headpiece. Tearing my eyes away from the beautiful headpiece, I looked down at the card.

I saw this a few weeks ago and couldn't pass by it without getting it. I thought you'd like it, and I know you'll look absolutely beautiful. I love you Elena. - Damon

"He bought this for me?" I whispered, looking up at Liz.

"Something new." Liz said with a small nod. "May I?"

I nodded. Liz took the headpiece, lifted my veil slightly out of the way, and slipped it onto my head. It fit perfectly, nestling in with my hair. I loved it. Damon knew me so well, and he was right. I loved it so much.

"Oh it's beautiful." Caroline sighed as she came back in, Bonnie right behind her. I turned to face my friends and then my mouth opened slightly when I saw their dresses.

Both in a pale pink, their dresses clung to their bodies until they flared out in a smooth skirt all the way to the floor. It wasn't a wide skirt but it swished ever so slightly as they moved. The top of their dresses had silky fabric crossing over on each side, and then connected into one strap around their necks. They both looked beautiful, with loose and wavy hair.

"You guys look amazing." I smiled as they came to stand either side of me. Liz snapped a few more photos before glancing at the time and declaring that we needed to go.

Caroline had sorted an actual black limousine to take us there, and Liz hugged us all before we got in. I had asked her if she could do the ceremony, and she had agreed happily. She was going to the venue a different way, and she still had to get changed.
