Ben almost seemed equally as horrified as Beverly did; if not more. "No, no It didn't," he stuttered, thinking of as many comforts as he could. "You're alright, Bevvy, look at me... look over here, you're okay.." he let one hand rest on her freckle-covered cheeks. "Breathe with me, okay? One deep breath in, one deep breath out."

I subconsciously followed the steps as Ben spoke in his soft, reassuring tone. One breath in, one breath out. This was probably hard for Eddie, and I kept one hand on his back to stabilize him as he used his inhaler.

Bill and Mike continued to slash and throw whatever they could at Pennywise; but It simply used Its disgusting black tentacles to pull Itself around the tunnel. It left a terrible black muck wherever It seemed to trail; Mike was right, It was just a bad omen.

"Sit down over here, Bev, you're gonna be okay," Ben sounded panicked and worried, but he kept his arms strong as he supported her, sitting on a small rock that wasn't too far from where the body had been seen.

Blood spurted down her neck, staining the top of her shirt and slowly seeping down to her stomach. Her ear had been practically sliced at the lobe; it looked like the kind of thing that would occur if you accidentally ripped your earring out.

"You might be a little dizzy, but you're not going to die, okay? Do you understand me?" he held her by the shoulders as she continued to let out whispery, pathetic screams that were so silent, it was as if she was unaware of her own volume. "Just calm down, I'm gonna take care of you."

She stopped sobbing for a moment and immediately clung to Ben's shoulder, as if she had been asleep for a long, long time and had finally woken up.

I knew Beverly was in good hands; if Haystack hadn't become an architect, he would have been a doctor, or a poet. I watched as Ben tore a part of his shirt that revealed an glorious six pack. He gently balled the fabric up and placed it to Beverly's impossibly white (but now stained red) ear.

"She's fine," I assured Eddie, who seemed to struggle with his breathing. Everyone was, but Eddie most of all. "What's important now is that we kill this thing before It kills us, okay? We have to help."

Eddie knew it was true, but he was trembling incredibly hard, and it made it difficult to slip the aspirator back into his pocket. He managed to plant his feet, looking up at me. He had determination in his eyes. And uncertainty. And immense fear. But none of that mattered now. This was the 'fuck it' moment. Once and for all. Eat or be eaten. He nodded.

"Are you sure, Richie?"

"Ladies first, Eddie, my love. Ready when you are." I grinned and winked. I watched his face lift just a little, as if he knew everything was going to be alright.

Eddie took another shaky breath and immediately withdrew his pocket knife, letting out a furious cry as he rushed toward the eye, which seemed to crawl along the ceiling, letting an intense amount of black goo seep down onto our heads.

"GET DOWN HERE AND FACE US AGAIN, YOU FUCKING PUSSY!" he cried out, trailing the eyeball with his own eyes, squinting through the darkness. "LETS DANCE!"

A kitten trying to hiss. That's what it was like. I watched him, my cheeks flushing. He was sexy when he was mad; that's probably why I had messed with him so much when we were kids. I wanted to get a rise out of him. I wanted to make him angry.

"Just fucking kill It, Mike!" he screamed, his lower voice booming through the walls of the sewers and returning back to us. Beverly sobbed harder at the painful noise, and Ben skunked an arm around her. "It's our goddamn imagination, like you said, It's nothing but a fucking bad dream! Just kill the stupid thing, I want to go home, for fuck's sake!"
