He was standing beside her, with rats on his back. His eyes were green and wide open looking straight at her. She stood straight, tightening the grip of her bag. She heard a yell coming from a man across the street.

"Camilo, stop pretending to be tio Bruno!"

(Y/n) saw the man turning into a boy. He was a little (taller/shorter) than her. He had quite caught her eye. He was handsome but cute. He had soft facial features and eyes she could stare at forever, But that wasn't the only reason she was staring at him surprised and shocked. 'What just- never mind this, just find Alma Madrigal, she will explain.. hopefully.' His voice interrupted her thoughts. He raised his hand and grabbed hers to shake it and say hello.

"Sorry for that, I'm Camilo Madrigal. Es un placer"

"Nice to meet you.. Camilo, wait did you say Madrigal?"

Camilo let go of her hand, and smiled.

"Yeah? Why? Wait, don't tell me, leave it as a surprise, I'll find out later."

"Oh, okay. Well I'm looking for someone named Alma Madrigal, so, you most likely know her, right?"

"Of course I do, she's my abuela, come on, I'll take you to her."

"Thank you, that's very nice of you."

"But, I didn't hear your name first?"

"Oh yeah! Sorry, me llamó (y/n)."

"Hm. Where are you from (y/n)?"

"Oh I'm a little up North."

"Like in the north north??"

"No, more like, the center."

"Centro America?"

"Yes right there, close to Panama"

"How did you come all the way over here?

"Walking."

"WHAT?! I mean I was gonna take you on a tour around the village but you need rest. Come I'll take you to my Abuela so you can talk to her, and then you'll get some rest."

"Oh no I'm fine, maybe we can do the village tour later though, I need to talk to your Abuela."

"Of course, it's this way." Camilo grabbed her bag and put it over his shoulder.

"I can take that, don't worry."

"Oh no, I'll do it, it's not that heavy anyway."

He put his hand on her shoulder and guided you where his Abuela was. She wasn't as far as (Y/n) thought, just a couple of turns and they found her. She was with another person, a woman. She had a basket in her hand full of food, which seemed to be arepas. They were talking until they noticed (y/n) and Camilo.

"Hola Abuela, hola tia, this is (y/n) and, well, she needs to talk to you." He said referring to his abuela, Alma Madrigal. (Y/n) walked towards Abuela and spoke to her.

"Well, my name is (Y/n) as you know. And, I don't know how to explain this. Well, my father said you are an old friend of the family, My father's name is (your father's first and last name). And some things happened in my town so I had to leave, he gave me this map and-"

"(Your father's name)? Yes, I remember him and his family. Come, let's go to Casita, we can talk there (y/n)."

"Nice to meet you (Y/n) my name is Julieta."

"Nice to meet you, Julieta."

Abuela started walking in the direction of the casita. Camilo did the same thing and she followed both of them. All of them arrived at Casita. When she came in she noticed something, the house was alive. The doors opened by themselves, the windows waved as if they were saying hello. She stood in the middle of the house and just stared at it amazed.

"(Y/n) I'll show you the house later, but come one, a la cocina, Abuela is waiting for you."

"Oh yeah right, sorry, this is just so amazing!"

"Yes, I know, now vamos vamos!"

Camilo laughed at her reaction. He seemed like he was having a nice time with her. He gently pushed her to lead her the way where the kitchen was. They got to the kitchen but there was no sign of La Abuela. Camilo walked towards a counter and grabbed an arepa.

"I thought you said she was here?"

"Oh, no, I have no idea where she went, I just wanted an Arepa."

"Camilo." Abuela's voice was heard when she entered the room. Camilo put the arepa down and went to sit at the dinner along with Abuela and (y/n).

"So, I already know your father, he was an old friend of mine when I married Pedro, you're father was young when he came to our wedding. He stayed with us when our village was attacked, he was a little older than you are now, I think. He helped us rebuild after I got El milagro, but left about 7 years later. Now you show up years later. What happened to him? Is he ok? Are you ok?"

"I'm so sorry about your town. And there was some conflict in my village, and He made me leave because it wasn't safe, he said if I went alone I could have a chance. But if he came with me they would follow us. I came here from Panama, he told me I'd be safe here."

"Don't worry about my town. But you came here all the way from Panama? You must be tired, how old are you?"

"14, about to be 15 in a month."

"Oh! so you're almost my age? That's cool!" Camilo interrupted looking at (Y/n). Abuela seemed unfazed as if she was used to this.

"(y/n), was it.. an armed conflict?"

"Yes, I think it was similar. There was fire surrounding the village, like circling it, so no one could get out. The only spot that wasn't on fire was the main entrance, and a small patch behind my house. That's how I managed to get out. My dad said he'd get here when things calmed down or there was an opportunity for him to leave."

"What matters now is that you are safe here, you can live here in the village If you want to. You can even stay here y vivir en casita."

"Thank you, Alma. I can call you Alma right?"

"You can call me Abuela. Now don't pressure yourself, I'll call Maribel to come to help you. And Camilo?"

"Yes, Abuela?"

"Explain everything to her about the miracle and the gifts."

"I was already going to abuela, no need to worry."

Abuela left the room. Camilo turned to (y/n).

"What miracle, and who's Maribel?"

"She's my cousin. Oh, wait you don't you anyone, I forgot. Ok um, Let me explain everything..."
