Its funny how Imminent danger makes you forget about everything else. Its like your legs were just programmed to run and run, nevermind the sharp stinging pain coming from your arm or the fact that you just witnessed a whole building explode. Take now as an example.
Normally Gabe and I would be on our way to the bus stop by now.. But guess what? Im actually running for my life for once. The road home is usually filled with tall trees, and not many people or cars pass by there. The nearest busstop was still miles away, and even if I do make it there on time, I still wouldnt be able to ride the bus.
Gabe just blew up our monster-infested school as well as my bus pass and all of my stuff in my dorm. Yeah, a risky act of bravery indeed. Who in their right mind would take the risk of blowing up a whole academy, just to save another guy's ass? But I still cant help but be frustrated by the fact that my stuff was also obliterated.
It had been an entire school year the last time I actually took the long way, which made everything around here seem foreign to me.
I carried on walking, despite the fact that my legs were a bit numb. My right arm wasnt a much of a help either. The farther I go, the more I feel the pain crawling through my skin.
I let out a loud groan. I couldnt stand the pain anymore, so I stopped on my tracks and decided to check on it. I cupped the sore part of my arm and realized that it was actually bleeding intensely.
Unwilling to lose any more blood, I did what I had to do. (And that doesnt mean that I have to like it.) Using my good arm, I managed to get my shirt off then wrapped it around the wound. Looking like this, I could easily pass as a shirltess hobo, but hey, i saw this on a survival show on discovery channel and it worked.
The farther I walked, the colder the wind seemed to feel that I almost wished I just let myself lose blood...which would probably be okay since I felt like I was gonna collapse any minute now because of fatigue.
The skies were now dark. And I am not even sure if I was going the right way. Shit.
And it wasnt only that, I was also tired and hungry at the same time.
As I continued trekking my way home, I saw a bright light from under my nose. I squinted my eyes and figured out that it was a shabby-looking Diner that looked like it had been there since the World War II.
What was strange about it was I dont remember it being there in the first place. But I could care less, So I just walked in anyway.
Hey, I was hungry okay? Food deprivation makes you do stuff without thinking..
As I entered the diner, I sat down on an empty table non-chalantly. Normally, I expected people to be staring at me right now because I looked like a hobo. But almost no one was paying attention to me. Which was probably a good thing, except for the fact that they were all watching the news eagerly.
It wasnt long before I discovered that being a hobo was the least of my troubles.
The reporter of the news channel was standing in front of our already-disentegrated Academy.
"Earlier this day, there was an explosion coming from Dalebrook Academy, a school for mentally-ill children near Palmridge street. The Police rushed in, only to find out that the school had been bombed. But Luckliy for them most of the students evacuated before the explosion happened, which I must say is a close call. The suspected bomber was also a mentally-ill boy, maybe about 15 or 14 who kicked a glass window out and ran away a few minutes before the whole building blew up."
Nobody mentioned anything about the Ogre that they saw.. And even if someone did.. No one would believe it because kids from my school suffer from various mental conditions. They would probably turn the other cheek.
