Tw: general Allister things, panic attacks, you know, implied abuse (again trust me it's for the happies I promise this chapter is the happies I am telling you it's the happies)
General POV:

Everything was always going so good and something ruined it.

Always.

Allister had already asked Toby is she could come, he said yes. Ranboo's stream wasn't even over.

Something always ruined it. She was coming to terms with her like for Tommy.

She was getting therapy.

She was happy.

And then Juliet.. no, she didn't ruin it, it wasn't her fault.

Juliet had sent her a vague message asking for help, she had turned 18 last month, her dad was still just as shitty if not more. Her mom was out of the question.

Allister had called her 9 times. Nothing.

Nothing at all other than "please help, things are worse, i need somewhere to go"

Allister was praying Juliet had gotten her messages. Allister had sent her money, the nearest plane over here from an airport near her, pick up times and everything. No response.

Right now Allister sat hunched over the bright screen, the lights in her room off.

Her breathing was labored and she hoped nobody came to check on her so she could just wait for the panic to wear off.

Things would probably be a lot better if she just turned off her phone, but she couldn't risk that. She couldn't risk any information she could get being delayed.

Much to her distaste, a knock was heard at her door. Then another. Then 3 more.

"Allister, are you alright? Toby said you hadn't been down in a bit."

Shit. Allister thought. Tommy.

She made the very smart decision to not respond, because that obviously would deter him.

"Allie? Allie, you okay?" More knocking. The concern in Tommy's voice was evident.

Allister tried to calm her breathing. News flash that didn't work. It in fact, did the opposite.

"Allister I'm coming in." Tommy said before the door was pushed open.

Allister instinctively pulled her legs up her chest and grabbed her phone, hiding her face like she was used to whenever her parents came into her room drunk.

More worry etched Tommy's features. He shut the door and hurried over to her, sitting down on the bed in front of the hunched frame.

"What's wrong? What can I do to help?" Tommy's words almost tumbled over each other.

Allister picked her head up a bit, letting him see her wide eyes. She handed him her phone, still open, showing her messages to Juliet.

"It's Juliet, my friend...you've heard of her. She's in a really bad situation and...I feel like it's my fault I—" Allister's breath hitched in her throat.

Tommy stared at her, concerned. "Here, Allie." He held his arms open so she could hug him.

Allister practically collapsed into him, making small sobbing noises, despite not actually crying. "I just feel like it's my fault cause it got worse when I left and— I always fuck up and I just end up hurting people.. sorry you shouldn't have to listen to me."

Tommy pulled away but let his arms rest on Allister's shoulders. "Don't apologize for opening up to me. I know you think it's your fault and I also know it's not. You're one of the kindest people I know, Allie. You're one of Ranboo's best friends. And we all care for you so much, just like you do for us."

"Tommy?"

"Mhm?"

"What am I to you?"

Tommy looked at her for a few seconds. "You're my—"

"Don't say best friend, we both know that's not true. I like you so much Tommy and it took me so goddamn long to realize it. I must've liked you for months by now and not known it."

Tommy stared at Allister, a bit shocked by the confession.

Allister stared back, directly into his eyes. "Okay, this is gonna take a lot but—" She leaned forward, tipping her head so their noses wouldn't collide, and kissed him.

Tommy felt even more shocked by this but didn't want to be an asshole, since he did like her too, and leaned into it.

The two parted, Allister's breathing less panicked and quick, and Tommy smiling broadly.

"I like you too, Allie." He smiled.

"Good."

They looked at each other awkwardly.

"I'm not really ready—" they both said at the same time before staring at each other in silence again.

Allister laughed first. Then Tommy did. "In sync!" She smiled happily.

"Okay so we can mutually agree we aren't anything just.. friends that like each other and occasionally kiss?"

"Sounds good to me." Allister nodded.

"How fast do you think Ranboo's gonna catch on?"

"Immediately. He'll probably ask me about it tomorrow."

The two laughed again.

"So we're good on Juliet?" Toby asked.

"Oh right! I forgot about that. Let me check my phone." Allister tried to search her pocket. "Shit, do you still have it Tommy?"

"No, I left it on the bed." He said plainly, sipping his water.

"Ah, okay. Let me grab it."

Allister pushed her chair away from the counter and turned to run up the stairs.

"What's she so giddy about?" Ranboo asked.

Tommy bit back a laugh and shrugged.

Ranboo eyed him suspiciously. "You're hiding something and I intend to find out what that is."

Allister basically fell down the stairs in excitement. "SHE RESPONDED! SHE SAID SHE BOOKED A TICKET!" She yelled.

"Good! Now why are you so suddenly bubbly." Ranboo deadpanned.

Allister stared back at him. "Oh, am I not supposed to be irregularly happy? Would you like me to go back to how I felt earlier today?"

"No— I— that's not what I meant. Your mood doesn't switch like that."

Allister smiled and gave him the finger.

"This is so unfair."

Ranboo sat at the kitchen counter at 6:50 am. He was drinking coffee and had another cup waiting for Allister.

She walked down the stairs groggily, despite the fact she woke up around this time everyday. "Rantitty? What the fuck?"

"I intend to get the truth out of you. Come, sit, I made you coffee. Vanilla, like you said was your favorite."

"Wow, you gonna get this out of me via flattery and gifts?"

"Maybe, depends if that works or not."

Allister chuckled and sat down.

"What happened yesterday."

"Oh.. nothing out of the ordinary. I got a message from a friend I haven't heard from in ages saying she's in a bad situation with her parents and needs a place to stay, I have a panic attack and Tommy comforts me." She said sweetly.

Ranboo gasped. "Oh my god you confessed."

"How did you know I even liked him?" Allister groaned.

"It was obvious as hell!" Ranboo exclaimed. "Finally! The ever changing ship name has sailed!"

"That's where you're wrong. We both mutually agreed we aren't ready to date."

"So you're friends with benefits."

"Ranboo, that is the wrong term."
