The red scarf (MikasaXEren)

Chapter 6.

"Sasha stop eating the carrots, they're for the horses!" Armin said.
"I know I'm sorry! I just can't help myself!" Sasha yelled back.
Armin sighed and put his hand on his face. Just then they saw captain Erwin ride up.
"Oh uh hello captain Erwin. Where have you been?" Armin said hopping off of his horse.
"Business." He simply said.
"Oh Um okay." Armin said.
"What's his problem?" He thought to himself.
He looked over at Erwin talking to levi. They hopped off their horses by the side of the building where the horses were being kept in a small barn. He had a feeling levi was talking about how many team members they lost, because Erwin had a surprised look on his face. But he couldn't tell what he was saying to Levi cause of his lack of personality. Then they simply nodded heads and Erwin went riding back off. Where to? They didn't know. Levi got back up on his horse and began to ride towards the rest of the team.
"Change of plans, we are heading off to Stohess, there's an emergency." levi said as he rode away.
Everyone looked at each other in confusion. Armin got on his horse and went towards Mikasa and Eren.
"Come on guys." He said to them and started to ride away.
"What do u think the emergency is?" Eren said.
"I don't know. It doesn't sound to good though." Mikasa replied.
Eren looked over at her. While she was tending to the horses, Mikasa took off her scarf and set it on a hook by the water troff. Eren took the scarf off the hook and started to put it around Mikasas neck.
"Here, it's cold." Eren said while he slowly rapped it around her.
This brought her back to the first time he ever did that. He fixed her scarf up and sighed. Eren then slowly but surely looked into Mikasas eyes. They stood there for a moment.
"Come on let's go catch up to Armin."
He says as he got up on his horse and rode away to Armin. Mikasa stood there and watched him. She gripped the scarf around her neck with her hands and her eyes started to tear up. It was just like the first time he did that. She hardly ever took that scarf off. It was special to her. He gave that scarf to her out of an act of kindness towards her to keep her warm. She thought of it as a never ending symbol of their friendship. And she never wanted that to go away. But now that scarf means a little more then friendship.
Later...
Mikasa and Eren were riding beside each other and Armin wasn't far in front of them. Armin began to ride back a little ways and started to trot beside them..
"Hey Eren? Would you excuse me for a moment I just need to talk to Mikasa for a second?" Armin said.
"Oh, yea sure." Eren replied and with that he rode off.
"Mikasa I just had a thought. I didn't want to worry Eren so I just wanted to tell you. Isn't Stohess where they were keeping Annie? What if something happened to her?" Armin said.
"I don't know I was thinking the same thing. I have a feeling some others are too. I don't think Eren really gave it a thought though, he didn't looked worried." Mikasa replied.
Armin started to freak out and think of the worst case scenarios.
"But what if she escaped? What if she turned into a titan? What if the crystal thing she was in exploded!? What if she woke up!?! What if she killed everyone!!?? What if-!
"I'm in love with Eren, Armin." Mikasa says cutting him off hoping that would shut him up.
Armin looked over at Mikasa and stopped talking. Then he looked forward and continued to ride. Mikasa was puzzled by his lack of response.
"Armin did u hear me?" Mikasa said.
"Yep I heard you." He said
"Well...." Mikasa replied.
"Don't you have anything to say about me being in love with Eren?" She said still confused.
"I know." He said smiling.
Mikasa had a surprised look on her face.
"What?"
"I know you do."
"But how?"
"I could always tell."
She wasn't sure how to respond to what he said.
"I always knew you did. I didn't know how but I could just always tell. You were always so protective of him."
Mikasa still didn't know what to say.
Armin started.
"(But what really surprised me was when he told me he loved you back.)" Armin thought to himself. He didn't want to tell her because he knew everything would fall into place by itself. As they got farther into the city there seemed to have been a big commotion going on. The clops of the horses on the pavement drew attention to them. Eren, Mikasa and Armin were riding in the very front. And after they were done talking Eren pulled up beside them. Everyone seemed to be in a big fuss.
"Hey there he is!!" Someone screamed.
"This is your fault you traitor!" Someone else screamed.
"I think their talking to you Eren?" Armin said.
HUH?" Eren gasped.
"Hey what's going on?" They heard Jean say.
"What the heck is their problem?" He said.
Then the people started to throw things at them. But specifically at Eren.
"Hey!" Eren said as something hit him on the arm.
Mikasa began to glare at everyone. This made some people stop what they were doing. Someone was standing in front of the group fairly far away, in the middle of the rode. He had a bow an arrow and was aiming it at Eren. He shot it off towards him. Mikasa quickly jumped from her horse and grabbed Eren, pushing him off his horse, but avoiding the arrow. Levi was riding behind them and caught the arrow in mid air in front of his face. Mikasa and Eren landed hard on the ground.
"Good reflexes." He said to her.
"Whoa same with you Levi." Armin said in awe.
"Thanks." Levi said.
"You guys can get up now." Armin said with a smile.
Mikasa and Eren got up with her slightly blushing.
"What the hell is your problem!" Sasha says standing up on her horse.
Levi got off of his horse and stood In front of his team.
"Okay here's the thing next person to throw something or shoot it...." Levi said pulling out his swords from his maneuver gear.
"Answers to me."
With that everyone seemed to back away and calm down. They now all rode through the city quietly. And Undisturbed.
As they finally reached their destination Armins fear was coming true. They were approaching the underground area where they were keeping Annie. As they pulled up to the entrance, he was the first off his horse and ran quickly through the entrance.
"Armin hold on!" Eren yelled.
But Armin didn't hear him. As he was running through the tunnel he was feeling like his fear was maybe a little irrational. But as he reached the spot where Annie was he let out a somewhat girly scream that the whole team heard.
"AAAHHHAAHA!!" Armin screamed kind of girly.
Then the rest of the team ran up behind him worried to see what happened. Everyone stared in worrisome surprise behind Armins traumatized face. Because where Annie should have been there was only a few chunks of crystal and some broken rope.
"She's gone!!" Connie cried.
And with that statement Armin fainted.
