It was a warm Monday evening, warmer than usual. It was sticky and muggy, sweating weather.
Olivia had a pen between her fingers, and was twiddling it absently.
"Would you like to go somewhere?" She said suddenly. Her eyes were focused on the empty space in front of her. "For dinner?"
I was sitting and watching a football game. I sat up out of my reclining position. "Okay." I said. I noticed my voice; it seemed dull, almost. Lifeless.
Maybe because that baby is part of you.
I dug my nails into my palms, leaving marks.
