Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.

It was Penny's alarm clock. She sighed as she sat up in her soft bed and yawned. The day has finally arrived. The day Penny would finally go to her new secondary school after being moved from her previous one for being bullied. She remembers telling her old friends that she was moving schools and probably won't be seeing them often anymore. She hasn't even gotten up yet and she could tell that she would despise that school more than anything in the world.

"Penny! Breakfast is ready!" Called her mother from downstairs.
"Coming, Mum!" Penny called back as she slowly and tiredly stood up from her bed and put her slippers on. She looked at herself through the mirror. She was a short girl with long, wavy blond hair, ocean blue eyes and black glasses resting on her nose. Penny made her way down the stairs and into the kitchen where she took her plate which held a piece of toast with baked beans on top. She could've easily made it herself but her mother was always very caring for her. She took a bite out of her toast and looked at her mother who was getting ready for work. Her mother also had blue eyes but she had dark brown hair. however, It was wavy like Penny's.
"Are you excited for school?" Her mother asked with a smile on her face as she was putting her shoes on.
"I'm not sure. I don't want to get bullied again, Mum." Penny replied while looking down. Her mother walked up to her and put a hand on her shoulder.
"Hey, don't worry sweetheart. You won't get bullied. And if you do-" Penny's mother started.
"I'll tell the teacher! Mum you told me that about a hundred times during the Summer holidays!" An awkward silence fell between the two as they stared at each other and then suddenly burst out laughing as they both realised how protective Penny's mother was.
"OK, eat up, honey. We don't want you to be late for school!" Her mother said. Penny ate her toast quickly and hurried up the stairs, almost tripping over. She quickly got changed and sprinted back downstairs.

Penny got into her mother's car in the passenger seat and looked out the window. It was quite cold outside and she could see puddles which clearly meant that it was raining. As her mother drove to school, Penny started thinking about what the school would be like. She would obviously make some enemies, there is no denying that, but she couldn't help but wonder whether she'd make friends there. Maybe even find someone she'd fall in love with. Someone who she could be with. Someone who would always love her. Someone who she could always count on. No. That would never happen. She thought to herself when she realised how stupid that sounded. She looked outside the window at the familiar road she always took to school with her mother. However, instead of taking a left (like she always did when going to her previous school), her mother took a right turn, making Penny even more anxious. She had never really been here before. The houses looked unfamiliar and the road looked unknown to her but she knew she'd get used to all this.

After about ten minutes of driving, Penny's mother came to a stop infront of the new school.
"Have a great day, sweetheart!" Her mother said cheerfully.
"Thanks, Mum! You too." Penny replied while getting out of the car and waving at her mother. She watched as her mother drove off into the distance to work. Subsequently, Penny turned around only to find herself standing infront of an overwhelmingly huge building. Of course, it only seemed that way for Penny as it was her first day of school but she could tell she'd definitely get lost. She was so overwhelmed by the structure that she didn't even realise she walked straight into someone.
"Hey! Watch it!" Shouted the kid who Penny accidently bumped into.
"I-I'm so sorry!" Stuttered Penny as she straightened her glasses on her nose. The guy infront of him was much taller than her and had short black hair. His piercing sapphire-blue eyes stared into Penny's soul as he gave her a death stare. Soon, he walked away and Penny gave a sigh of relief as she walked inside the building.

There were many people crowding the halls: some putting stuff in their locker, some chatting to their friends, some even kissing. Ew. Penny rolled her eyes and made her way through the hallway. There really wasn't much to see except for the guy that was being rude to her earlier. He was leaning against a rusty blue locker staring at his phone. He paid no attention to Penny as she passed him. She found that everyone looked the same with the school uniform which made the school look a little boring.
