A strong wind is like nothing else. It grasps your soul. Rattles it within you. Sometimes it will take your soul, and theres nothing you can do. But if you have it; the will to live; To survive, you can tame the wind.

It was nearly 7pm in Northen Canada, and Mackenzie was ready to go to sleep, its not like anyone would come to him anyway, he was just a bush pilot after all. Thats when the old dial phone rang, his assisstant yelling something along the lines of, "I TOLD HER NOT TO COME," and,"SHE SAID YOU WOULD SEE HER," Mackenzie just put the phone down. That's when he heard the hangar door open and close. The violent, strong wind, constantly trying to grasp someone, something's soul. That's when she walked in. Dr Astrid Greenwood. He hadn't seen her in years, what was she doing here? She entered the office and softly spoke,"Hello Mackenzie."
"A-Astrid?"Mackenzie replied,"Is that really you?"
"Yes Mackenzie, it is me,"Greenwood replied,"Mackenzie, I know I'm in no position to ask this of you, but will you fly me out to Great Bear Island?"
"W-what?!"gasped Mackenzie,"Is there no greetings, no context, just straight to the point, huh?"
"Will you or not?"said Astrid firmly,"I'm not here to fight, I just need to get to Great Bear Island. No questions asked."
Mackenzie stared intensely, but in disbelief,is ex-wife standing in front of him, nothing being said between them for the last 7 years.
"What?! Astrid, it's been 7 years, and you just show up here unannounced, wanting me to fly you into the middle of the frozen nowhere. I could've been dead, you don't even realise...." spoke an irritated Mackenzie,"And then you want this "no questions asked" thing. Astrid, this is ridiculous!"
"I know it is Will, but I wouldn't be here if it wasn't important,"replied Astrid,"Mackenzie please, I need your help, you're the only one who will help me, the only one who can."
Mackenzie could sense the seriousness of the what she was saying, and not wanting to continue the conversation, he grabbed his parka and obliged to what she wanted.
"Load up the plane with your gear, we'll be out in an hour."
