Chapter 19 - Dating For Old Time Sake

A few weeks later...

Location - Kirigaya Residence

Your POV

I was so happy when the hospital finally released me after being shot by that Shu character. But when I was released, I had to go back to my college, and tried to catch up on all the classes and homework assignments I missed out on. This lasted for a few weeks until I was able to catch up on everything. Sure, I lost a lot of sleep afterwards, but it was worth if I were to graduate alongside my classmates.

Now that everything has been taken care of, there was only one more thing left for me to do: going on a date with Touko. It has been a while since we went on that date for her birthday in the 9th chapter, and if I plan on being with her forever, I need to get back into the swing of things.

As I made it to her place, I walked inside and saw her mother.

"Welcome! Oh, (Y/N)-kun... it's you." She said awkwardly.

"Oh, hi ma'am." I replied awkwardly myself. I guess things have been awkward between me and Mrs. Kirigaya for a while now.

"Listen, I want to apologize for breaking you and Touko up with a guy I picked out for her." She said. At least she admit what she did was wrong.

"I forgive you." I smiled.

"You do? After everything you had to suffer through?" She asked.

"Yep. I was able to recover from my injuries, and Shu is stuck in a jail cell eating Cornflakes and/or Candy Corn." I said.

"Yeah, you're probably right. But if there is anything I can do to make it up to you, let me know, okay?" She offered.

"Hehe, thanks, I'll keep that in mind." I replied.

"But anyway, I'm sure you're here for my Touko? I'll go get her for you." She said and walked away.

I already had an idea in mind about where we want to go for our date, but I'm curious on what Touko will be wearing for our date. She does have an excellent taste in fashion. A few seconds later, Touko and her mother showed up, and my jaw dropped to the floor when I saw Touko.

"Hi (Y/N), sorry to keep you waiting." She grinned.

"Oh, umm... uhh... n-no problem." I mustered a reply.

Touko looked beautiful. She was an emerald dress with matching heels. She had make-up on, and she had her hair tied up.

"What's the matter? You seem... speechless." She said.

"Forgive me, I couldn't help but noticed how beautiful you looked." I replied, trying to pull myself together.

"Aww, thank you." She said as she came over to give me a kiss on the cheek. Good thing she wasn't wearing lipstick.

"Heh, no problem."

"And I must say, you look really handsome yourself." She said as she got a good look at my outfit.

"Thanks. You're as sweet as ever." I said.

"Hehe, shall we going then?" She asked.

"Yes, of course. I can't wait to go out and get some food." I replied.

She smiled, then looked towards her mother.

"I'll let you know when we're done, mom." She said.

"That's fine with me. Have fun you two." She said.

Touko and I said goodbye to her mother, and we headed out of her place, and began to head to the restaurant.

That evening...

Location - Station Entrance

Touko and I had a good time at the restaurant. We had some good food, and we chatted about the colleges we attend to. I was a bit sad that we don't go to the same college, but we have each other, and that was good enough for me.

After we were done eating at the restaurant, we began to make our way home. We held hands while smiling at each other.

"That was the most fun I have ever had in a while." Touko said as grin spread across her face.

"Yeah, and sharing it with you is going to be even more special." I said while grinning myself.

As we kept on walking into the night, the stars came out. It was a beautiful night, and that led to an interesting topic.

"(Y/N), this might be an odd question to ask, but do you think it might be possible for us to get married?" She asked.

"I mean, it could be possible." I replied.

"That's good to know." She said and hugged my arm.

"Is marrying me something you've always wanted?" I asked.

"You know it! I believe we're ready to take that next step, huh?"

"Y-Yeah, I think we're close to that step too."

But in order for us to get married, though, I need to be able to have the courage to pop the question, and I think I know how I am going to pull it off, too.
