Prove it

It has been a month since I last talked to Chris. I have been ignoring him even though we live in the same house. It's hard but I need to get him to understand that I need Sebastian in my life too if the lady from the metashop was telling the truth about my destiny. I haven't phased again, I'm waiting for the time that Rai comes back in the next full moon.

"Sage, there's someone looking for you." Amanda said as she entered my makeshift office, the guest room.

"Who is it?" I asked as I looked up from my laptop.

"He said his name is Rai and he has something to give you," I got up immediately and walked towards the door, "He's in the living room with you dad and Chris." I ran out of the room, into the living room.

"Sage." Rai, a tall muscular man with shoulder length hair, stood up when I entered the living room.

"Rai?" I smiled as I recognized his scent, "What are you doing here?" I asked as I walked over to him and hugged him, "Is he alright?" I whispered.

"He is," he whispered back. "I just dropped by to drop something off." He said as we pulled away from each other. I sat down with him and he grabbed a black leather satchel from the side of the couch and handed it to me. "My mate wants me to give you this. She said you'll have everything you need in there." he smiled.
"Thank you." I said as I set the satchel down on the coffee table.

"I have to go. Don't forget in one more moon cycle." he said as he got up, "It was nice meeting you gentlemen."

"Come, I'll walk you out." I said as I got up and walked him to the door.

"Sebastian has something he wants to give you to help you get him back." he said as he hugged me, "I'll see you soon." he smiled and then he left.

I walked back inside and grabbed the satchel from the living room.

"Who was that exactly?" dad asked.

"A friend of mine." I smiled and turned around.

"It's the first time I've heard about him. How did you two meet?" Chris asked.

I continued walking but my dad stopped me. "Mikayla Sage, answer the question."

I turned around and said, "Why do I have to answer it? It's not like I'm the one who did something wrong here." I scoffed and left. I went back to my office and locked the door. I took the contents out of the Satchel and a necklace fell on the floor. I grabbed it and it was a glass heart pendant. Sebastian's glass heart. I wiped a tear and kissed the pendant. "I will get you back, bubs." I whispered to it.

The satchel held two books of shadows and four smaller journals. I flipped through one of the journals that looked like it was made in the 1800s. In it there was an entry and it read:

I phased for the first time and it felt awful but once the pain was gone, I loved the feeling of the air between my fur and the sand beneath my paws. While growing up, I was told that this is our family's curse, turning into a wolf. But with me it's different, I am also a vampire. No one in my family knows that I am one. I have killed multiple people and the worst feeling ever. I would not want the generations that come after mine to experience this. For now I have to learn to control myself. Since I earned my Moon form the urge to hunt has been really strong this is why I have locked myself in the basement until I get it under control.

What I've read sent my mind to a really dark place. I put the journal down and closed my eyes as I sat back and rested my head on the wall behind me.

"Sage, can we talk?" Chris said as I surfaced on the pool.

"What's there to talk about?" I asked as I pushed myself up and walked towards the hot tub.
